phd or army?

should i study Poly Halfway Dropout & go to nsf straight or should i continue my life in RP?
i like to study business..
but am being forced to study IT in rp due to my poor 'O's so i can only go to RP...right now in yr 2, 1st sem, i have totally no interest in what is happening in the class at all..
everyday i go into the class..fall asleep fast, the problems sucks...
even when it goes to yr 3, where i finally can take business modules, it's still associated with IT.
I like business, but not IT..
if i drop out from RP, i go nsf, 2 yrs later 21, then 3 yrs for degree, 24 is this better or
20 finish rp, 22 out of nsf, 25 finish degree..
of course i need to earn money to study for degree..so it will either + 1 or 2 years after ns, before i can take degree..
advice needed..

if u dun like to study yet, go and serve the army.
make sure u sign on as an officer, then go and study after that.
without a degree here, it's very difficult to go far in life.

sign on as officer, bond at least 5 yrs...hard life in there, and sign on as a poly drop out, is like hard to get promotion leh..
unless i sign on for study bond la, but what if i fail?
is it better to sign on as officier or study bond?
or i sign on as officier and completed my bond then i use the money i save from nsf, then go degree?

sign up as an officer.
then u can go for ur study in the uni or smth..
education is very important.
there's no short cut to promotions la. u have to study and pass with good grades b4 anyone can promote u. same in the army, same outside army also.
i'm being very practical here. so, yeah. never undermine the power of education.

currently i am supporting myself, in school fees, my upkeep of my own expenses, i also paying almost everything for myself to lessen the bunden... -

2- finish my nsf asap
3- get a to study for a degree course with 'O' lvl cert (be it overseas or local)

Nowadays, even business courses are related to Information Tehnology and Internet Technology in some way or others. This is due to the fact of IT playing a larger role in the business organisation and work environment. My advise is to stick to your course and finish it before you serve army. After all, for poly students you are likely to get exemptions of a few modules or even up to a year from a degree course if you get a dipolma. You will still graduate within the age of 24 as a degree holder, if everything turn out well.
Seriously business courses are not that fun, I made this statement based on my experience as one.
In the past those whom drop from poly used to only serve 2 yrs of national service liability while those who completed poly or JC will have to serve 2.5 yrs however, with a change in law I do not see any justification of completing national service first before returning to your studies. You might as well get a dipolma first before you enter. (At least the allowance will be higher) since poly and jc grad will mostly becomes cpl at least while ITE and lower will get the rank of lcp. -

locally, you have to go the 'A'-level or poly- route ---> to go uni
overseas, you need to do a foundational course if u don't hv an 'A' level or poly cert -
without at least a recognized poly diploma, you can stop dreaming of OCS, period ...

you got how many year left for your poly and how well you did so far har? just wanna clarify so pple who bother to comment and give advice can do it better -

it's not about the money bro .... there are thousands of universities and colleges outside, basically, anyone who's not a drooling idiot can and will graduate from some university or another, as long as his pocket book is large enough ... but you get what you pay for in terms of your entrance qualifications .... what's the point of collecting a sungei road degree ? ... just so that you can append a BSc or BA on your future name card ? ....
my advice is to bite the bullet and suck it up ... put in some effort and finish it, you'll discover that a lot more doors will be open to you if you have a decent poly transcript .... I didn't like my poly engineering course either ... but now I'm studying something totally different and removed from engineering ..... -

i came upon an ad saying $3k-$4k for a dip in 6 mths, and $13k for a degree..
the course offered is international business management. is this a scram? my frenz said its too cheap -

do you think the course that you will go to will be easy or better for you. think it thru first lor, and find out about the course. dun just say can then go and do.
btw i think TJV is correct, you would have to go for a foundation course frist which is normally i think 1 or 2 years or 3 years then go on to the uni proper -

my advice is, get ur dip, make it to OCS (if u have wat it takes), sign on, get some scholarship (provided ur school results are OK), get ur degree, finish ur bond, than leave SAF. -

if sign bond, 2 yrs later upon completing nsf (national service full time)
then if i hav money, i will study uni for a cert, then get on with my own life as a entreprenur.
short and simple.
the advice i need on are:
1) should i drop out or stay in RP, as everything in Rp for me now is IT which i hate!!
2) should i drop out of sch, then go sign up for army to Study while earning money for my own business in future
3) or the simplest choice, is to drop poly, wait for ns, finish it, then work and earn money to go into uni in future?

You don't need advice. You've already have your practical route selection.
You just need to make a choice.
Now your problem is, you can't make a decision because you're too young?
Or
You're too narrowminded to consider other solutions?
