I guess its more important to know the reasons for ur insecureness rather than to try to stop urself from putting on make-up, since that is more the problem than the make-ups.
Maybe you could try to think of WHY u wanna look pretty. I mean you are attached. And im sure ur boyfriend likes u beyond ur looks. (If he doesnt i think its the time to find out anyway) You need to realise that ultimately, 20 or 30 years from now, make-up wont help u much. Sad but true.
You know ur problem - you are feeling insecure. Putting on make-up might just be your way of copping with that insecurity. BUt if u really want to solve this problem, its time to look more into why this insecurity.
Just remember, to someone who likes u, ur looks wont matter, and to someone who dont, why bother?

I saw an oprah winfrey show episode where a wife have never shown her unmadeup face to her husband for like 20 years. She will wake up earlier every morning to make up, and sleep after her husband sleep at night. it's a bit like a mask she puts on.
Actually a lot of women put on these 'masks' when I put on makeup, though rarely, I feel excited maybe cos make up is something that I associate with special events. You dont have to go barefaced all the time either. Get a tan!
I think you know where the issue lies... I was about to suggest some activities that can help you boost ur confidence in your own abilities, so that the looks compartment wont be where you tap your self esteem on. Learning that you can be good at other things will help I guess. -
looks is not the only point in life. as u get on with age, u'll still be what u are now? sry for being straight forward but what matters is that; i believe natural is the best restore of everything. visit the airport someday and look at those air stewardess, with least 1 inch makeup in every pores?
try to divert ur vainty mindset to other points like hanging out with frds to the pub? [since u are least 18 ] or try diverting ur attention to sports that makes u sweat. imagine this, perspiring wear off ur makeup and leave a bad feeling. try to control! w/o makeup, it would defin. feel better right? all e best for getting ur natural self

Alittle simple make-up is ok, a layer of powder will do, is just to shield off the harmful sun ray to minimal the appearance of dark spots.Not red powder or colourful eyes shadow that 's bit overdoing already. If you're not going anywhere like partying,dinner or any function that required to doll up liek that so make it simple will do.
For mi i like to apply mascara and eye liner everywhere i go just to liven up myself ...just like someone can't live without wearing spectacle.. -

I think the sad thing is not when your bf can't accept you if he get to see you without make-up, but for the fact that he's only accepting you because of your make up.... Just what kinda acceptance would that be should it be the truth? -

Yesterday & today, i met up with him. Tried to lessen my makeup i jus applied sunblock,and loose powder, i left out my eyeliner (which was a MUST for me all the while!!), i left out eye shadow, i jus had a bit of blusher, dip of lippy (i had loads last time!!) & i was out of the house in a jiffy..(was afraid i'll change my mind and put on more, the longer i look at myself in the mirror..hehe) and i left my make up kit at home!! I jus brought along a gloss..
It really felt good..cos he commented i look swweeet without all the layers of make up..i guess it'll take time..before everything comes off..but thanks everyone!!It's not so bad afterall.. -

yea. realtinship foundation. once u got a stead, looks is relatively not as imprt. the other party who really love you will acpt all the faults in you, even if u are not as good looking. not direct flame to you [have not seen u ]. just an eg. i got this frd who use makeup alot, her new stead whom is my friend said she look much better w/o makup and wiling to acpt all the faults even if she's ulgy. so dude, try to go w/o makeup. forseening a bright future in you

Ah yo! Ladies! Dont bother what others have to say about u putting on makeup. As long as you are comfortable..as long as u think u look good..as long as people keep turning to lok at (whether for good or bad reasons)..dont care..continue doing that. Take it that if it's a girl..she's jeolous because she doesnt have the guts to put on make up and if it's a guy..because he cant put on a make up. Correct or not? Listen to uncle here...be happy lah.

I completely empathise with you.. I would say, in the same boat?
haha makeup is addictive. Once you start putting on makeup and realising how good you can actually look (because they enhance your features), of course you will not be willing to settle for anything less, anymore.
Guess you are getting used to the admirative glances you get when you go out, and would feel uneasy and inconfident when you don't apply makeup and stop getting them.
Sometimes when I am out with my bf say just going to have a normal dinner, without makeup or dress up, and run into other people, when I see other girls prettily dolled up, I would feel kinda regretful that I didn't. Insecure, but definitely not bcuz of my bf, its just a confidence kinda thing.
All girls have a vain side of them. My friend once told me, b4 her sis goes out, she'll ask my friend a qn: will guys look at me when I'm out? Its not that she's flirty or wad, its just good to feel confident and being admired =) -

but i guess when i hit a certain age..say, 40 yrs old, the more i pile on, the more hideous i'll look right? so i'd btr start somewhere..make myself less addicted to make up!! It's really addictive.. -

No need to wait till you're 40... It already started. Did you realise that with no makeup on, your skin looks 'older' than it used to be? Certain areas of your face looks darker, complexion not even... Anyone can offer solutions about this?
