  Well it really depends on your job, your education and how far you can go. There are people whose pay doesn't really increase when they are in their 20s to their 40s.
  
  How much you need in order to survive would really depend on your needs and wants. There are families who can survive on $1000 a month though it is a stretch to make ends meet and families who cannot survive on $10,000 a month.
  
  I dunno, I think maybe a middle income family would be having a total household income of about $5,000 - $7,000
