they are working adults earn 4k per month
i felt i pay more then them in this way
I'm drawing a salary that is half of my sis's.... does it mean I'll give her a tiny present? or that I'll spent more than i can afford on her present to show her my love for her?

I just see what she needs. if there's nothing, I'll tell her to buy what she wants with my budget ( maybe approximately $100)
For my mum, I sometimes don't even get her a present, I just treat her to dinner, sometimes not even that, sometimes i just make breakfast for her, does that mean i love her less than my sis???
it's not what u get for the person that matters. Family members don't have to buy presents for each other to prove that they love each other.
just be happy with what u got
or next time u can request...

Well, in a way if you look at it, at least they bought you something. I agree, looking through from your point of view, it kinda sucks, but you gotta look at it in another way. The thought counts and 400 bucks for just a wallet is a lot. Just the same as spending thousands just to get a tv. At least they remember your birthday. My parents don't even know mine haha but it's ok cos I also don't know theirs haha..

Different people value things differently.
Would it make you feel better if they bought a $20 wallet telling you that it's $1400, and you actually believe them? -
I think there is a gap between you and them due to the distant and time of seperation. Try to communicate more with them and see how they handle things. The value of gift is not a measure of love, is the thought that count. Maybe a word of 'I love you', 'How are you' or 'I miss you' are more meaningful than expensive gift. You can stop buying expensive gift for them.
Just to share with you, I am more happy when I received gift that I like than expensive gift. This indicate that the giver has been paying attention to me and knows what I need or want.
