My course title is chemical engineering, but I study nuclear reactor physics and construction of nuclear reactors as part of my course. Nuclear engineering is actually a very specialised field of chemical engineering.Originally posted by alexkusu:wah, geodome doin nuclear engineering leh
Alexkusu > Are you referring to Prozac?Originally posted by alexkusu:One time, there was this pharmaceutical company who invented this drug to calm people nerves ( I forgot what issit called). They created massive marketing campaigns and created a new disorder called Social Anxiety Disorder or sth. The symptoms listed was difficulty breathing, blushing, redness in the face (classic signs of nervousness or just feeling flustered).
Same.. LOL.. This is what I do for exam. I study 2-3 subjects concurrently using one table each. When I get bored with one subject, I change table. My friends think I am must be so stressed over examination to do this, but this is actually one of the little tricks I use to counter ADHD.Originally posted by Isis:For me, i can't concentrate before exams. I cant stay @ one spot for long.. i prone to easily excitable and i get bored easier.. i can't listen well to others, as a results, i always have to ask my frens to repeat again...
Mood shifts can be real bad, but it is manageable.Originally posted by -[0]-:Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurological disorder, usually diagnosed in childhood, which manifests itself with symptoms such as hyperactivity, forgetfulness, mood shifts, poor impulse control, and distractibility.[1] In neurological pathology, ADHD is currently considered to be a chronic syndrome for which no medical cure is available. Pediatric patients as well as adults may present with ADHD, which is believed to affect between 3-5% of the human population.[2]

you can don't study if you chose not to...after all study too much you will develop symptoms and ADHD just happen to be an excuse of a symptomOriginally posted by Isis:it is really lucky that you identified with ADHD @ an early age..
i still have to struggle with my studies for now... and unfortunately for me, my school lectures are boriiiiinnggg....
there are ppl who go further tthan that to they own businesses and they have ADHD too...yeh its can be an inspiration to you tooOriginally posted by somepersonlah:thats inspiring, despite the setbacks experienced, u guys are able to go far, atl least to uni..
thats some motivation for me..
having anxiety does not mean i cannot go far..yeahh..![]()
Being identified at an early age does not make my teachers find my disruptive behavior more acceptable. It also does not make my peers understand me. When you are in primary school, I am sure the terms calculus and ADHD sound alien to you. It only meant that I have a choice to start on Ritalin at an early age. I didn't take Ritalin.Originally posted by Isis:it is really lucky that you identified with ADHD @ an early age..

Everything in school is boring to me as well. That's why I read up about almost everything, to find something that interest me. In the end, I realise I am interested in everything, which is as frustrating as being interested in nothing. We just have to cope with our daily struggle with ADHD. You don't grow out of ADHD. The ony cure for ADHD is to accept and to learn how to live with it.
Do not blame any failures in life on ADHD. It is the choices you make that lead to failures. It is not ADHD. It is easy to blame everything on ADHD and remain passive about everything. Passive is the reason for continued failure in life.
