Singapore education teach us to be,learning half on chinese ,half on english..cannot master both..
then as a result become singlish.
Now Gov say must speak proper english,then of course our chinese will be lesser spoke..After few more year,they will start their speak good chinese campaign..
After few more generation,we singaporean will speak ape language..
Now i speak chinese become malaysian..speak singlish ang moh dont understand me and girls dont feel high class hanging out with me..

Yes I have this experience too. Just because I speak fluent chinese, they thought I am from China. From then on I deceide to speak Singlish chinese and singlish english. That's the good thing about Singlish.
