I never understood about those western shows where they despict the adults hating their mothers. I always thought its because of the No Respect Culture thingy.
Close one eye and let it go...If she gets too Unreasonable...Speak to Her.. Solve things so that both parties can come to a peaceful conclusion thats my advice towards you... Whats most important in a Family is Understanding and communication...
But the worse sentence which anyone has told me, resulting in goosebumps all over me was: "You are exact copy of your mother!"
I liked to open up the floor to everyone to share their horror stories about their own mother.
Here's my start of my stories.
My mother, is a drama mama. Everytime there is an argument, or when she is losing that argument...it will be first Cry cry cry...look sad. 2nd Bang table, bang door, shout scream, scold. and forever, there is always that "Its my fault lah....kill me lah!!! I kill myself lah!"
Tells you, her favourite is always to try to swallow detergent when everyone bo hew her.
And its been pretty clockwork..for the last 3 years, its will start all over again every 3 months.

i am not here to promote my opinion nor enforce that my thinking is right. yes this may sway the thinkings of our teenager in the present era but like i said before i would rather not come into this world if sufferings that can evidently be avoided and which is caused by the unbalanced mindset of parents who refuses to accept reality, facts and the situation to their favor.
when children grow up they have to balance their own career, jobs, and a little of their own space for personal relationships and friendships besides time for the family, kins and parents. i am sure elders should also keep themselves occupied and live the twilight of their lives meaningfully to strike a balance. if a parent think that be giving a child 1/2 fu ck education and childhood and expect superb returns both in time, efforts, attention and material wealth from their children in their old age i can say its fat hope. be happy if you have a roof over your head that;s all i can say. -

My own mother was not really like that. Somehow, when she gets older, she starts exhibiting the same traits. It only started after she turned 40s.
Be thankful that you are seeing your own mother different from your grandmother. And try to keep her occupied and steer her away from the possibility of turning like your grandmother.
BTW, this thread was opened up to forumers to contribute their stories. I didnt remember saying, opinions needed. Or self discipline is lacking here somewhat and the moderators arent showing some good examples? -

Here's another start as to how genetics are at play.
ah ma was 14 years old when she married ah gong. They produced 10 children. Of the 10, the eldest becomes rich and famous.
The Twa Gu then brings in 2 wives to live in the same household.
ah gong died.
ah ma was terribly upset that she cannot control the 2 daughters in law, and she was not able to ill treat the 2 daughters in law because times has changed.
In times, ah ma becomes bitter and every 3 days, will qurral with everyone and anyone just for the sake of dun know what.
Subsequently, she turns to Christianity wheres the whole family of nearly 10 in that household remains buddhist.
And her common stories to everyone who was within earshots to her grumbles.
'Look at that man, he turn to christianity, now he is a millionaire, if you follow me go church, you can become like him.'
'i sooo poor thing, that other lady at church become christian, and her whole family respect her and becomes christian, now they are driving big cars and living in big houses, wheres I have to live in this dingy room.' (she didnt realised that she is living in a Big House.)
'last time, your grandfather beat me, he kick me in the stomach just because I wouldnt bring him water.'
So she just keeps annoying people, intentionally goes out to sabotage people in their daily routines and gives a farked up face that everyone is wrong.
And her last sentence is always: "i want to die and be with god, why he dont take me? I pray to him everyday to take me away from you sinful people"
And she lived till 90+. Imagine a old woman, eventually left to her own devices in a big house, because everyone just cannot lived with her nonsense anymore? -
Was it dementia?
Was it menopause?
Or was it a matter of a someone having too much time to themself and not knowing how to make full use of the time? -

3rd story.
Has this nice young man. Who wants to be like his friends.
told his mother that he wants to go UK to study.
Mother love this son so much that she sold off her flat and gave her son the money to go study.
And mother has no place to stay but to stay at her married daughters place, waiting for her son to finish his studies and in turn come back and buy her a condo for her to stay. -
Another story.
Certain mothers in law, keeps saying this to his son: Well, who is more important, the grandmother or the mother?
Son's reply: of course themother since she is the primary caregiver.
Mother in law got so miffed, keeps always calling her own son to suggest ways to tell the son to divorce the wife and take the baby son with him. -

mods can post but sometimes it is up to the forumers to discuss issues if mod cannot share their experiences (due to lack of it perhaps). they can step in if flaming and personal insults or accusations brew.
