When it's over, it's done. Friends maybe but there's no point as far as wanting a lover. You are just wasting your time and youth. There are so many people around to make friends.

I am in a long distance r/s myself...and I make sure that the communication is always there and that we always have one day in a week that we will meet up with each other
And of cos there are temptations while we are away from one another. But we make it a point to be honest if we feel tempted by another guy/girl...like I will let him know if I find there is anyone attractive around me. And he does the similar thing for me.
So depends on how you manage it, but of course it will need more efforts, communication and honesty with each other

I didnt ask, but he expressed his opinion without me asking.
He understands that my exes were part of my past, in fact, given the number years we were together and things we went thru, he was part of my growing up process. It would be silly to ask me to severe my past with me, rite?
Anyway, if i wanted to have sex with my ex after breakup, i would have done it during the 1.5 years when i was single after we broke up. why wait till now when i have a bf? -

when breaking up we have a nice heart to heart talk and promise that we shd keep in contact as we know each other too well n can be confiding frens for each other if we have problems in life.
we still write emails to each other but when I came back to sgp n ask her out she give me excuses. I cant say tat I have move on very well but I m those kind who know that one should not dwell over smething impossible. I met up with all my frens during this short stay in sgp to say hi to everybody except her.
so m wondering will ther ever be friendship after a relationship? I feel it is sad that I cant be fren with smeone who understands me well.

Think positively, she might really be busy, and not making up excuses..
Maintain your emails, she might be free to meet you the next time you are back in sg again -

Takes a lot of effort from both parties to maintain and you have to try to shrug off potential stealers and temptations.
Trust is very important.
Taking a rare success story like yours may inspire but the chances for success for many are low. It's about being practical.
Im not against it but it's just that it doesn't work out that easily for many.

Some people just cannot bear to view their ex as friends again. After all, after you have given ur everything in the relationship, going back to being just another friend is hard.
My 1st gf and I still keep in touch, even though i did her a lot of wrong. My 2nd one, despite my efforts to keep the friendship going, avoid me. I guess it depends a lot on the individuals, and how able they are in facing up to the past. -
Most of my ex i didnt contact them and vice versa. Well, mayb its just like this. The breakup feeling is still there when see each other or mayb awkward.
