  No. Liking a person doesn't mean having to be with the person. It just might be that she would be happiest if she was with someone else.

  Mmmm, I may be a bit young to comment on this, but I really think that your friend should first look around and think. He has to know if he's ready for this yet. Getting a gf can mean a lot of things. There may be more pressure and expectations from everyone else. And is getting a gf everything? What if it ruins his relationship with that girl? I'm not going to say anything more, but let him think of the consequences. Is it love or lust? xD. (hahaha, i heard that from a speech.) Good luck
