Is this a rational decision?

I'm interested in a girl but we haven't met for two years. We talk on msn a lot and she said she like me but don't want to start a r/s cos I'll be overseas (I am now) but I'll be back next year.
I want to fly her here and we take a vacation together but I need to buy her the air-ticket (very expensive). Is it rational for me to spend this money when she's not even my gf? It gonna be like a few k total for both of us(me paying). -

No... I met her through part-time work but it was only for abt 1mth... after that I was so occupied with school that we never really met up since. But we still kept in contact online.

maybe you need to know her more first since both of you only meet in real for around one month, and the rest are online. Just my humble opinion

How much more can I know about her chatting online? I'm not in S'pore and cannot go through all this dating thing with her until I come back.
I'm thinking... money can be earned back even though it is a lot. I don't expect her to commit to me even after this vacation but it'll be nice for us to have fun together rather than waiting for a few mths till I get back just because of the money issue. Or am I just the most impulsive guy? -

Of course we had attraction for each other... even though it is just a short one mth. We always talk about how come we nv end up together after so long. How to be sure of any r/s unless we hang out together? How to hang out together unless I get her here? Or is it just because air-ticket too expensive I have to give her up even though I like her... that's materialistic. I don't want to hate myself in future that I miss out someone I like just because I don't want to part with my money.

Personally I think it's not very rational if you both are still in the good friend stage and a sponsered trip will most likely affect her decision on whether she wants to be with you truely. -
Rational or not i think reali depends on whether wat you want outta it and where you stand. Afew thousands may not be alot, but could be a fortune to some. So it really depends on whether what it is to you. One thing to caution you, if you buy her the air ticket now, it may set the pace of the relationship.
