hmm when my mother said that i'd retort... if i'm really useless, i won't be independent since age 15..
i'd still be gettin money from her everyday while i nua at home and go to sch and all that..

Note: The above only applies if you really intend to do so. My view is that: regardless of what she says about you or compare your uselessness to your brother/sister's superior usefulness, you do your duty as a child to your parents.

my mom always like to compare me with my friends and relatives from young, quite stressful when i was younger and hence, got a pretty bad temper.. no matter how well my results were, i was never praised nor acknowledged.
but now, i think its fine as it is. its not like im an angel or what either. -

My mum also did say me useless..
not only her, my grandma, my Uncles (Dad side) plus some friend's mum also did that.
well, I was useless compare to their child.
All Top in their School. 1 dude went to SAP school.
now, I am doing as well as them. so she don't any more. -

So I showed him that I'm not useless. It took many, many years, but I think he's finally starting to wake up his freakin' ideas.
So work hard, and show your mum that you're not useless. If she still thinks that you are, then toss aside whatever your mum says about your being useless - you know that deep inside, it's a whole lot of hot air.
You're only useless if you believe in what she says. -
