One should be shot if he/she thinks that the unfortunate/unlucky should be given 'less love'. In that similar sense, how much are your friends 'worth' if they are expecting 'more love' from others?
Love is universal - probably the only thing in life in which we have so much in abundance, but often giving too little in our expression of affection.

Joe, u would most probably need to try much more than your very best to make things work.Its going to be a very long and hard road ahead.Are u ready for it? You'll find a certain sense of 'attachment' to her by nature. You'll love her kids as you've always love children.
In time to come, you might find that finance problem is not something which you can really stand up against so easily...
Much of the future outcome would rest more in her hands.. -

nowofdays society is so competitive... many parents are sending their kids to classes to give them a headstart in life... and all these need money.
and when the kids go to school, they will need a psp or at least a gameboy to socialize with their friends... this costs money too. not to mention their food, pocket money etc.
kids are reallyy cumbersome. although they offer plenty of joy, they are also a serious strain to ones finances.
I think it's up to the parents to spoil them.
I was at the handphone shop last week.
Right in front of me were a mother and 2 children. The daughter seems to be around 9 years old, the son apparently less than 5 years old. The guy serving me kept smiling, I wondered why. Then I overheard the other staff telling the mother not to buy so expensive phone ($19
for her son, for he might lose it or get robbed. And the mother replied 'No la, I won't let him bring to school'. I shoke my head. Is there a need for a 5 year old kid to carry a hp? Use psp to socialise? If parents dun teach their kids from young, they will really grow up to be spoilt and materialistic.. having the wrong mindset and thinking that they can always get what they want if they ask for it, and not EARN it.
I also like to share.. I had a lecturer who's a korean. Her husband is a German. She has this different way of bringing up her children. About 3 years ago, her children were already in JC. However, my lecturer never gave them any pocket money since they were young. No handphone also. What she did was to prepare lunch boxes for themm and let them bring some coins so that they can call her in case of emergency. Then she saved a sum of money every month in their bank accounts. I believe they are now rich young adults lor. -

i've seen parents regretting as they were too poor to give their children a good life. although the children have grown up, they'd still blame themselves for not being able to provide for them in the past...
furthermore, kids can turn out to be rather resentful when they can't obtain the things their peers have...
although you can't give in to their whims and fancies all the time cos it would result in them being too pampered, there are certain things you can't scrimp on... for eg. overseas education, courses to nurture their creativity and talents etc.
