i was COS before and kenna this case in my unit almost 10 years back...
i can tell you the likely scenario TS.
Within 1/2hr if you dun come back by stipulated time, the COS will contact the PC.
The PC will decide whether to wait further....normally if he kind, he will ask COS to keep calling you and give you allowance time to tomorrow 6am, before the OC and CSM comes into unit.
If COS is unable to contact you by tomorrow 6am, PC cannot "hide" it under the table anymore and is no longer his jurisdiction, he HAVE to report to OC.
OC will call a meeting with CSM and PC and by 7:30am, will have a soldier booking out to go to your house/flat to knock on your door to see if you are there. OC will also have to report to CO of unit by 8:30am LATEST when the battallion RO is needed, i.e. when all COS compiles and report strength to Chief Clerk.
By 12:30pm, CO will contact Mindef and report as AWOL, and MP will be activated by brigade to arrest you.
You will be given a reprieve by military court, failing which you will be sent to DB.
