  honestly, whats there to be afraid of in army. i too had been scolded like there won't be a tomorrow but then i still went thru it.
  
  it isn't that bad considering mine was like 13yrs ago, nowadays its so much better. so just brace yourself & all will be fine

  if u can't even take it when u're in BMT how are u going to take it when u posted to unit? when u must do guard duties on weekend or bookout day. wun u commit suicide den?
  since u're in BMT u shld enjoy it as much as possible.. though those sgts will tekan or scold u but a few weeks to POP they will be very nice liao.. and if u have some sgt that gonna ORD soon, best they will be damn nice to ur platoon.
  
  i've been in ur shoe before also.. the thought of booking in to camp every public holiday night or sunday night, and even night's off night really SIAN that's why some people do stunts like illegal stayout or take MC. but u can only do this in unit not BMT.
  
  AWOL is no joke. once u in DB.. u wun even get to BOOK OUT!

  I think this may be a hoax.
  
  The fishy points:
  
  i) Let me ask you guys. Would you even have civilian clothes in the first place during BMT. Recruits must book in book out in Smart No.4. I remember clearly my SGTs and PC had emphasized that at no point were we to change out of our uniform once we book out. The emphasis i remember quite clearly is to go home straight no matter what. Therefore, i do not know why he has CV clothes in his fieldpack.
  
  ii) What happened next is beyond me,I alighted at Redhill,went to the toilet and changed to my civilian clothes(which is inside my bag)
  
  Then I just took the next bus I saw and took it all the way till the end.I ended up at Bedok interchange.
  
  If he had taken the next bus he saw, how could he left his field pack at a hawker centre in Tiong Bahru. (This may be possible since TB is quite near to Redhill, but I do not how he reached there.)
  
  iii) Wouldn't it be quite strange for someone who is quite stressed up to register a new nick and post his woes. (Again, this may be possible.)
  
  Last but not least, i have checked the Bus services. Indeed, Bus No.32 passes by Redhill MRT and ends at Bedok Interchange.

  Just trying to brush up on my Sherlock Holmes skills...nah kidding. Anyway, I really hope nothing happens to him and common sense prevail in him soon, if this incident is indeed real. (Even though we will never ever know).

  now bmtc requires everyone to bring a set of civilian clothes. compulsory.

  3) If you like games, think of this phase of life as a GAME!! .. Maybe you will feel better.
  
  4) Most importantly... TALK TALK TALK... TALK to someone you TRUST... If no TRUSTED person, TALK IN THIS FORUM. NO ONE KNOWS WHO YOU ARE, JUST TELL US WHAT YOU THINK OR HOW YOU FEEL.
  
  BTW, my dad got TERMINAL ILLNESS but he still FIGHT ON TO SURVIVE DAILY.
  
  I know your problem. You think TOO MUCH, TOO DEEP, TOO FAR, TOO ADVANCE & TOO NEGATIVELY. What can possibly happens to you? The most is collapse or fainted, but you will still SURVIVE.
