Generally what your sister say was right.
Most of the girls do prefer guys that bball and do the "cooler"stuff.
But just be yourself. There will surly be girls that like you for who you are.
Just that you need to wait longer then others.
But when the time comes. I am sure you and ur gf will be really devoted.

not to discriminate or anything, walk on the streets and you see those nerdy uncles about 30ish, talking about games and having no girl's love.... how do you see yourself 20 years on? one of them? or a happily married man with possibly a kid or 2?

Yea. This is what i think. After school, my fwens sometimes go BBalling right? I will follow them loh, but me wun be playing BBall, instead i will be playing wib BMX bikes, do a little stunt, that's all. MBX stunts (flatland as they call it) are equally cool as well, as well as dazzling. And also, people who do flatland are cool people. They dont lack girls' attention. 
I see alot of boys who are cycling fanatics yet they aren't short of girls attention. Besides, BMX bikes and BBall go along well, as i sometimes do see BMX bikers alongside with BBallers.
So maybe i can intro myself to those girls after doing some cool stunts at the BBall court without having to play BBall. -

That's why i prefer cycling, which i have more confidence at. Im extremely afraid of being embarrassed. 
I got one female cousin which i rmbr what she say, "WAH!!! He pro sia" . At BBall, they look at ur skills, not because you are just playing it. That's what i believe. Then some people(boys) got attitude prob. You thrash him already he give you a KPKB face and like want beat you. Then he like showoff his skills. This people are not to be trifled with. If you say "OI! Look what look??!!" I can assure you he will call his gang and beat you up. I would rather do flatland tricks by myself than to stir up trouble, as said by chinese term " Duo yi shi bu ru shao yi shi". It kinda piss me off when people stare at me with angriness and KPKB face when they are the ones who lose, and its a fair competition.

I don't think it really matters if you play basketball or not, although the girl I like likes to watch basketball..Hmm...
Anyway, I think what's more important is you have ur own hobbies. Cycling is also good what.Its better to have healthy hobbies than those who gamble, drink or go porn websites all day long, and do nothing but these vices only.
I have a friend who likes to study a lot, and is obsessed with getting As for his exams, but he also got GF. So I guess, its to each his own bah. -

If you really want a gf, just make sure you make yourself look presentable everyday ala personal grooming etc. You can also open yourself up to more genres of music... but there's no need to follow bs trends just to please other people.

And kenshin_himura, yes, its very expensive to collect construction models, some are cheapos, costs 20-100 bucks(USD) and is not very detailed, those very detailed and is limited edition can costs up to 900-1500 USD, some even super, remote controlled, electric powered with hydraulic abilities can costs 15000 Euros.
Expensive huh? But those very detailed ones are superb, take a nice shot of it with a fake and detailed background, you can trick anyone into believing that its a real construction machine, trust me, i've been fooled before.
Ok, actually my talent is designing and constructing stuffs(wah piang, gals will think im boring right?), i've done D&T in sch and their coursework is no problem for me. I've done some cardboard models from scratch, using plain cardboard to make something. I will upload the pic of it the next time, cant log in to Photobucket now. Can riding a bike well and doin some basic stunts such as front wheelies considered a talent? Oh yes, i can scale high elements , those rock climbing and outdoor stuffs with not much probs too. The only special talent that i can do is being soft-boned, i can bend my thumb all the way back towards my wrist with no probs, i can also bend my index finger 90 degrees behind, i cant really explain it, but you will know it when you see it.
Sadly i have complete no interest for BBall thingys, i think they are boring, i would rather play soccer. But racing is best.
Im now training up my "Daytona" skills so as to improve my driving/racing capabilities.
