a girl in my lecture group

  im quite attracted to this girl in my lecture group. same course but different module group (class).
  
  i'm not even sure if she knows of my existence.
  
  can anyone suggest methods i can use to get to know her?
  
  actually i'm waiting for an opportunity to get a chance to talk to her, or even smile at her. (an example would be opening the lecture door for her when lesson ends.)
  
  so far, there's still no chances.
  
  i just hope that she does not get scared off by me.

  be friend first. yes if u chase her like mad, it will scare her.
  
  to know her, very easy. look at her eyes, give her a megawatt smile and say hi

  You are just like the guys in my class. Actually dun need to think until so complicated, just apporach her and say u wanna know her and wanna be her fren. I think this will work. If she ignores u or back off just forget about it.

  that's what i'm afraid of, scaring her away.
  
  that's why im planning to take it slowly, perhaps give her a smile first.
  
  but no chance to do it, my classmates are always around me.

  i know many people does this but if i were in her shoes and someone comes up to me and tells me that he wants to be friends, i'll most probably reject him or adopt a cautious attitude towards him.

  Last time in jc, i wanted to noe this volleyball girl too. What i did was, since i knew another girl who was in volleyball, i asked her to intro her to me. Luckily she didn't reject my approach. Unfortunately, i found out that she was already attached.
