How to approach?

hi guys. i am currently studyin. i recently got to notice this girl from another course of my school. i feel like goin forward and approached her, askin her if we can be frens?
however i am very worried of gettin rejected, plus i am afraid she might find me not good lookin.
she is always surrounded by guys from her class, and thus it will be difficult for me to approach her. plus i wont be in the same lecture class or any class with her. the only time i can see her is when she goes to the food court. which will also be quite hard, cos the timetable is different
can u guys here teach me how to approach her? and how to let her know i sincerely wanna be friends with her?
i am also afraid later if she give me her number, she will reply me those one word answer. and its like very sad.
any ways for me to make myself more presentable to her and make her dun mind knowin me as a fren? -
Find the right time, gathered up your courage and ask her.
Just wear casual, with confidence in you, don't make the situation awkward with cheesy lines. If you can, make her laugh. Good luck

You get rejected being friends? I never kena b4 leh...... Lols..... and also, you are afraid of rejection by her, and you fear her give you single word answers. You are sort of despo in wanting to be friends with her..... Quite obvious u like her........ 
Also, even if you are down right ugly, you can still be friends with her. Looks are not the key issue, unless you talking about r/s larh, obviously u want her to be your GF right? Scared you ugly she reject you, you like her izzit?
As what others said, be confident. Try this, "Hello, you looked familiar. Have i seen you before?" If she say, " erh sorry leh, think you got the wrong person.", give her a smile and say "pai seh pai seh! I got the wrong person liao! Sorry arh!" Try this method if she's friendly, if she's not, NOT RECOMMENDED to do so.
Last time i got the wrong guy(its a guy ), and he just smiled and laughed at me. Then we talk awhile just like that. Try to start a conversation with her first.

Yea, its like that. You had a crush on her, but dunno how to approach, and scared she reject you. I also feel that way..... Eh sekali, u ask her " can we be together?" .............*she thinks awhile*.....................*smiles at you* and says, "okay lorh. I accept you, we shall be together bah!" Wah piang! Happy until siao man!
Hmm why not try the "ren chuo ren(recognise wrong people) tactic? Will be quite useful if she's friendly, cheerful and joviant person. Really! What i expect is if she say" Erh i think u recognise wrong person liao!", you should say "erh opps! Sorry! PSPS! Your really looked like xxxx (someone whom u know close) , REALLY! really look alike!" .........then she shld say, "orhs......nvm arh.... Its okay. I look like your xxxx arh?" then cont' your conversation with her and HOSAY ARH!! You talked to her liao, rest is up to you....If she not friendly and courteous, i dunno liao.

once a girl from my course got hold of my number from one of my classmate.
now we are friends, but don't really talk much that type.
i'm a guy so i don't mind it if a stranger gets hold of my number. but for a girl, they would most probably mind ba.. -
Firstly I sensed that u r quite low self esteem... How are u going to give the gal a sense of security... U must have a thick face but do it in a smart way.. For example finding out most of her from her friend. now gal like to play psycological game nowsday... They always pretend that she not interested in a guy but actually just waiting for u to she her out or be her BF.. As for she give u no but don't relpy or reply unhappily than forget about it... there are plenty of gals around ... Keep in mind if u not a prince in the eye of the gal here there alway a play... Go taiwan , just speaking english on the train u be a weel respected among high school gal... I suggest that u be tough and confidence as alot thing will be achieveable....

Look, you just need to do what you deem fit as ultimately, it's you who will have to live with the consequences of your own actions - if you're going to fail, at least fail knowing that's a method you believe to have been the best(you don't get a second shot at everything in life, mind!).
Just be yourself - acting "confident" may fool her for the instant, but it certainly isn't going to work in the long term. So why not show the true you and let her decide if she accepts you for what you're? -
Hmmm... approaching Singapore girls directly may fail esp if she is the shy type and it can be extremely difficult for a shy guy like u and this method is quite ordinary.
How about, write/draw sth on a own made card to ask her out or say she want to friends with her, etc and give it to her directly or indirectly? On the card put ur email address so that she can reply u! Content wise is u have to do and think urself. Some humor in the content may lighten her spirit and make her reply.
And avoid overdoing with things like a soft doll present, etc.
