SOS. Why is my brother such a no-brainer?

Hi people, i'm currently in the university, staying in hostel and is veri troubled by what my brother is doing as a job.
Last sunday when i was at home, he told me he found a job. I asked him wad it was and he told me it's E*y*uth, Multi Level Marketing. I've been there b4, and i noe it's not a good company to start off with.
Of coz, i persuaded him not to join, but he gave skeptical remarks like "it's ISO awarded, can earn alot of money" Blah blah blah..
So he went off with all the talks while i'm at hostel. So yesterday, my mum called me to say that my brother needed 400 as deposit to the company. I was like -_-" that's like a huge % of my dad's pay. I tink my mum rejected him offhand and later he called back the comapny say no need liao. (it's fishy dun u tink so -_-)
So now, my bro is asking my mum for his NETS so he can get $$ to buy the stupis electro matress at 1.5k Come on, I'm older den him, and i've yet to spent up to a stupid 1k on any single entity. U noe how MLM works, i'm veri afraid that my ill-willed brother will get brain-washed by them.
My mum is also pleading me to go with him on the talks, to prevent him from signing any stupid agreement or stuffs.
So wad can i do bout my no-brainer brother? I do not want him to be cheated of my dad's hard earn money, and i certainly cant juggle this shyt, going down to his useless talks, my cca and my uni life.

Yr brother is attracted by what I call the "Easy Way Out" syndrome
He thinks that it will not be much work and you earn money easily
Anyway ISO just means that you do paper work. You get awarded that for so called proper documentation and it's really bull crap.
You can try to stop him from going into the hole or let him learn an expensive and painful lesson -
Get him to read the MLM forum...

He told me he's not there for the $. He's there for the exp. I was like wtf?! U wan to be and engineer, wad do u want marketing exp for?
I dunoe how i can stop him. Everyday, he comes home from talk, play the com and slp. When i tok to him when he's with the com, he will " ya ya ya" god noes if anything went in.
I was tinking of just letting him splurge his 2k savings on this rubbish. Let him learn a lesson. But definately, i feel heartpain for my dad. -

Engineer in local MLM? Got to be kidding, tell your bro that he's wearing a tag with the words "Sucker". Seriously, if your brother is going into a MLM co. At least go to one that is workable or can benefit the family(health products etc)

Talk to your parents.. Fix in a TIGHT budget control for his spendings... Their ISO very suspicous, u see its not Enyouth, it is astral mag of their previous company. Plus tell your brother go do abit more research on the similar products outside. Will see they are selling at over-inflated prices

erhm i have to agree with devil on this one.
my bro is some what like yours, except he doesn't dabble with MLM. my parents also ask me to "talk" to him and my reply was "you spoil him, you teach him".
talk to your parents. let them know wat u think and tell them only they can control the "flow" of money to your brother. if they continue to give your brother what he wants, then it's your parents that willingly spoil him. (bo bian)
as for talking to your brother, i think you have done your part "talking". if he doesn't wan to listen, he wouldn't.
you sound like an independent chap. so i guess you dun really need your parents to support you in uni? concentrate on your school work and stuff instead ya? -
he invest how much money already?
since he wants to gain some experience, recommend him to work in sales or wad lor.. -

Haha, i'm struggling to be independent lar.. Still cant find a job that is veri flexible other den fruad MLM. yep. i pay sch fes w a loan from bank. Gotta raise the $$ in 3 yrs or i haf to sell my pee gu liao. HAHA, kidding.

Yea. It infurates me that companies like this still get along wif cheating young ppl. I went thru 3 hrs of their tok last yr. WASTE MY TIME. I dunoe why they are still free from hands of law though. -
Hello moto tell your bro about my case in MLM that i almost got cheated...i got a terrible experience 4 years ago...the ppl there talk nicely and sweetly for u and like will help u earn your first buck when u join in thier company. How they help? again ask you to cheat other ppl by psychoing them into joining your team.
This is what happens between my long lost friends and me. One day he met me up and brought me into one company that he boast about job stability blah blah. End up he show me the modern concepts of network marketing. Got so enticed with the thing pay up $30 upfront for admin cuz i need to go home borrow $500 from dad. later learn the ugly truth from my dad that MLM also known as pyramid selling and tell me not to feed the trolls for they are still cheating the young minds.
My ah pa somemore said "du lan right? $30 got eaten next time u go open the god damn MLM company on your own if u want revenge -_-". And he reminded me that if ppl find a gold mine they wun go around telling u they found it. Be weary of ppl selling u treasure maps in these case the act done by the MLM agents.
Any tom dick and harry can work or open up thier MLM company. Most importantly tell him that MLM less lightly guarantee his career path, makes some of money if successful, spend plenty of time sweet talking but lose alot of his circle of friends around him in the end.
