you have to realise that in a forum like this.... everyone and anyone can post replies and advices... it is up to the TS to filter out what they think is good and crappy advices
what makes you think they know better??? they are just like any other forumites except that they have some additional 'duties'... They have been in AA for a number of years and hence gained some 'experiences'... -

Answer: A image of authority, with not the necessary capability, nor the ability and self discipline; disguised as advises that did not help to alleviate the TS situation except to show 'knowledge'. -

When you go to a doctor.... do you really take his word for it base on his certifications???
when in doubt, you would seek for a second opinion right?
like-wise, if the TS doubts the advice he/she is given here, he/she will ask for other ppls opinion right?
bottom line. the moderator's advices are like any other forumite's advices... maybe they are given more credits simply because their advices are sound and reasonable...
for example,

The moderators here are as crappy as some of the forumites here when they choose to be. And should not be held accountable to their advises since they arent certified.
Soooo...when they turn personal instead of being fair, its okay because their majority posts was sound and reasonable which was copied from textbooks? Thus they have 2 different persona and its okay?
that a doctor treats pets using textbook cures, and can personally advise you which duck medication you should use to cure your dandruffs? But if it dont, then they are moderators, not accountable to their advises.

The Moderators do not hold the final outcome of advices given by the public and people with plights do not always seek moderators for advice. These people seek advice from the general public and only if they desire, they might want to PM certain people about their issue, but that doesn't always mean it has to be the moderator.
MCsquare referred 'people' to me before, asking them to seek for my opinion on their issue and likewise, I have asked people to seek Devil/MCsquare's thoughts too. I am not a moderator btw and we don't 'own individual client' or charge them anything. It's entirely based on goodwill and the trust people have in whoever they PM.
A moderator doesn't mean that his advice is superior - it has never been the case.
A moderator in here doesn't mean he's the doctor or he can provide the cure for the problems in here. He's only burdened with additional liability of maintaining this forum. That's all.

Pls remember, that this is a PUBLIC forum... and they're additional roles are purely to help keep order...
whether you think their advices help or not is your personal opinion....
everyone here (or almost everyone here) try to help in their posts.... the advice they give may not be the perfect advice... or the perfect solution... but it is what in their advices...
are they accountable to their advices??
pls remember that they have been here for years, and if they have the tendercy to dish out crappy or careless advices, then don't you think the forumers here will know better than to seek their advices or even to post their problems here?
wherther or not the TS takes the advices he/she is given is purely up to him/her... -
Certificated moderators or non-certificated moderators, as long as they do their jobs i.e. monitoring the forum and keeping the trolls away they are good moderators. Of course if they think they are able to assist the TS, I donÂ’t see any problems if they should decide to contribute their two centsÂ’ worth.
It is entirely up to the TS if he/she should accept them or not. -

What is the percentage of the people posting their agonies here being the longstanding members of this forum? most of them are newbies.
longstanding members of this forum, will have gone to the people they already knew to discuss the issues instead of posting here.
And longstanding good advisers would have posted the solutions and offer the alternate solutions instead of just critisising to the solutions they cannot agree.
and its true about me being stubborn with the standards of moderators. i've seen better and i would like aa to improve. -

But as separate individual, I think we all have different 'brand' of advice. And this brand determines what we believe in and how we convey this belief in words here. Being personal or not, well, it depends on how you perceive it? I did employ harsh tactics quite a few occasions, but that was never meant to be personal - it was part of the belief I had?
And afterall, we all have different impression of people - same goes for nicks in forum. If you reckon that somebody is being personal or abusing authority, you can choose not to like him/her mah. It's perfectly fine. FI got fan clubs... but she got hate club also. It's like you can't please everybody too.
Everyone is accountable for their own advice here. Even the moderators. And everyone seeking advice are accountable for who are seek advice from.
The other thing is that, nobody here can provide cure. It has never been that way, other than an exchange of thoughts and viewpoint.
