  Arguments help the couple to better understand each other, but it is only beneficial if you've learnt something out of it.
  
  Based on what you've said, I believe you -do- need to start evaluating yourself, and deciding if you're really ready for a relationship.
  
  The religion is merely an excuse, a red herring.

  my neighbour happily married - day in day out together. they go to church on sundays - he to catholic church and she goes to her christian church.
