Ok la ok la... I think you guys are basically split into two camps - can cry (SNAGs) & should not cry (um, traditional, stereotypical head of the household kind)... and both have reasons for their views.
You're both right, except... guys should not cry (or whine!) over little things, but they should also not keep it in too much...

And erm, usually what kind of reaction do you have?
1) emotionally support
meaning he might need someone to pat on his back and comfort him. Offer a listening ear if he wants and I am sure he will feel better after this.
2) to be left alone cos sometimes at this point of time he cannot relate on what the problems that he is facing. The stress is so much for him to handle and he has to release in this manner. Talk to him later if he wants.
