My degree is Psychology with Management. I am also thinking of doing a pure Psychology degree. Too many choices. Frankly I am a bit lost.Originally posted by ben1xy:When u complete your Honours, you can register to be a probationary Psychologist (i think u need 1st class or second upper, its been a long time, can't really remember). But to be a full fledged psychologist, you will need a Masters/ post grad minimum. So maybe they are probationary then
I took a double degree. I did my Honors in Economics. I didn't follow the psychology path, it just didn't appeal to me. I mean this with all due respect to every psychologist out there.Originally posted by DeadPoet:Just wondering is your current job related to Psychology?
What field would you like to me in? Organizational management? the helping profession? or Research work?Originally posted by DeadPoet:My degree is Psychology with Management. I am also thinking of doing a pure Psychology degree. Too many choices. Frankly I am a bit lost.![]()
Social or Community Service.Originally posted by ben1xy:What field would you like to me in? Organizational management? the helping profession? or Research work?
which appeals to you? Give it some thought
Nah, you're right there, and it also applies between fields of psychology. I've had a few baby psychs come and go because their interest was clinical and not organisational.Originally posted by ben1xy:I took a double degree. I did my Honors in Economics. I touched on it years ago - one of my first ideas for my doctoral thesis was organisational learning. It's been a while, though - can't say I can remember much, although I could get back up to speed with a bit of reading.Originally posted by ben1xy:Actually, u're an organizational psychologist right? There has been an emerging view which entails economics and organizational learning from sociology; It's been coined Absorptive Capacity. That's what my dissertation is focusing on. One of the variables i'm measuring is organizational culture. I ended up doing my thesis on the application of Item Response Theory to computerised adaptive testing, and these days I'm working with organisational culture and leadership.
