perhaps it is because the a'level class of 2005-2006 belongs to the dragon year? so the competition is tough...?
do you think this trend might not settle down and instead continue with the a'level class of 2006-2007?
If I remembered, the "A" level class of 1993-1994 is also Dragon Year. Especially that time engineering was quite popular, and there are so many guys competing for NUS Engineering School. Fortunately, My grades were more or less the cut-off for application for 1995 in-take and they reserved a place for me.
However, dun despair if you are guy doing NS, cos you can apply another 2 times. Hopefully by then, the course that you want to enter is not that popular or competitive....cos some of my camp/platoon mates managed to get in after applying in 1996 and/or 1997 intake.
All the best in your studies.
