Think it is the issue of understanding than sharing the same hobbies...
I used to believe in your statement also.
But after gone through a few bf with no common interest. I realised the importance of having someone who has at least one common interest as me.
Having a bf who shares the same common interest serves to motivate each other. Also , a good way to spend time together doing something both of us likes to do.
