What is your basic philosophy in Life?

That is why I asked if it is a good fundamental philosophy to have. See, now you have changed your position to "case by case". Then if it is case by case, when do you apply it? Start loving people and using things sounds good but I just want to know what you think "loving people" is? Is it a feeling? Is it you go with your feelings of love?
What if your feel that it is the loving thing to do and you do it out of love but it causes more harm? Are you saying that as long as you love, it will never cause harm or as long as you do it out of love, even if it turns out to be harmful it is acceptable? -

Your "belief" and "guideline" has a "it depends".
You need to come up with something that will guide you under all circumstances, and only then you can call it a basic, fundamental philosophy of life. -

If your friend ask you to help him in his homework and you have not finished yours, do you then go and help him (putting others first before self) or do you finish your own homework first and if you have the time, go and help him?
If your parents want you to stay at home and your friends want you to go out, do you defy your parents or put your friends first and go out with them?
"others before myself" sounds very good but if you think about it more, you realise that it sounds very good but is not practical under many circumstances... not REALISTIC. -

I must stay neutral and objective.... this thread is not to give people the answer... I believe that discussions and thinking will help people become more intelligent... that is how, I believe the human brain works...
