i am sure the problem can be solved. but prevention, it would eliminate the problem. but there are definitely better solutions like simple talk.
but seriously i think the roommate is easily agitated and throwing of chairs may lead to serious consequences if you do not let him move out or you moving out. he might injure or kill you even -
but whatever we talk, he will think that i'm trying to against him. for example, he asked whether i can use table lamp or not (i usually do my work until very late at night) so that he can sleep with the light off. I said no problem, but if he wants to do his work until very late also, then he must use table lamp also as to be fair for me, then he said angrily "u sleep at day time wan, i dont see that i'm a problem here!" first, our communication always failed. secondly, he's a chinese speaker, i'm a english speaker, so i talk chinese to him, then he will insult my chinese after hearing it. Then like he said, he can't move out yet cuz he can't find any room outside (i did not force him to move out, he himself told me he wanna move out) -
tolerance. before he moves out. but do not retort or insult him back, esp if the kitchen is near, wad worse is knives are available. such situations....u muz be very apt and be sure to give n take. some people juz ruin life for us. dont bother. some day someone will teach them a lesson, juz not us.

In all relationships, it needs to go thru the test of time.
I got a roommate in my hostel who moved out after 3 of us quarrelled with her, becos she is so untidy, throw bras and underwears anyhow, then we have to pick up for her and also do the sweeping, she never do any roomwork. And also bring bfs to our room.
After she left, we have to pay more money as now 3 of us have to share rather than 4.
But 2 months later, she is back with us because she went to the other room, get bullied and kicked out. Now she appreciate what we have done for her. She apologised to us and said that actually, without knowing the outside, she thot we were the worst lot, but actually we are the best of the best.
The 4 steps of relationship
1. Introduction: very warm and nice, courteous and polite
2. Pre-storming: start to have problems, the like and dislike, the comparison, the sacrification, the arguement, stamp authority, the tolerance and endurance among each other.
3. The perfect Storm: Wow, quarrels and even fightings, scolded here and there, no respect anymore, knowing each other bad habit and points, look for trouble, sore in the eyes. Everthing good is bad, everything end in bad mood and quarrel. In the end, broke off relationship, but if the relationship is not broken off, it arrive at the next step, so call
4. Normaling: It like after a big storm, all clear liao, you know my style, i know your style, each have each other respect space, the do and don't. All learned to understand each other like and dislike.
From then on, you may become good buddies, gf/bf, husband and wife, colleagueship, boss and subordinates. teacher and students etc etc and all other relationship. -

he might look physco on the day i have described him, but on the usual day he looks extremely normal. so i don't buy the idea he will kill one day. not defending him, but i think i know him better then anyone here so stop making anymore assumptions..haha.
