I would have to go for option A, especially if I am a fresh grad. When it comes to accumulating related job experience in your desired field, in my opinion, it would be better to obtain it from a reputable firm or even an MNC, just for the "namesake".Originally posted by blu_sky:Thinking about changin my job.
have been going for interviews. Some job interviews are really tough, they drilled and drilled. asked really irrelevant qns and and stupid really tries to piss you off. but such cos are bigs cos, T related cos. so strange and stupid, ask wat my hobbies are. like if i enjoy drinking and getting drunk everynite, i will tell them!
went to a interview today. really great one. it was like an exchange, conversation between the interviewer and me. and i feel really great after that. i feel that i am getting the respect i deserve for my maturity and accomplishment
Would you choose a job that is:
a) well-established co, confirmed good prospects, really expanding, but make you feel like the are drillin you all the time; or
b) smaller co, but profit making and expanding too, make you feel like a human again?\
oh damn, i hate travelling for work. why all these jobs require travelling despite i am in such 'back offcie'?

sshhh.. that is a secret. But i muz say i started working really young, so i have accumulated quite a bit of experience.Originally posted by LyonK:how young is blu_sky again ah?
I look for the human factor.
I only go for companies where have good work environment, peers, good boss, etc.
This are mostly small companies.
I guess its better than being treated as just a number or according to your title when in bigger companies.
YOu think be own boss so easy meh. Anyway, i think for my profession, be own boss, too onerous. so that is never my aspiration.Originally posted by allentyb:option 3, be your own boss, stay at home and shake leg
All my life, i have been tiny fish in big ponds. Nothing to complain about, but just these interviews, these interviewers getting on my nerves. When i see the difference between the 2, i suddenly dont mind working in a smaller company. strange. first time in my life i have this feeling. i have always been one who climbs the corporated ladder in big organisations. maybe cos the interviews in the smaller cos make me feel myself and respected, not scrutinised under 10 magnifying glasses at one time, and purposely agitated and be pissed. or maybe i am just older. or perhaps i am tired? i dont knowOriginally posted by jojobeach:That depends on what you prefer.
Do you want to be a small fish in a big pond with plenty of resources ?
Or
Do you want to become a big fish in a small pond that is growing but tight on resources ?
Travelling is good when you are still young and with not much commitment.
You should be happy you get to travel.
Don't forget to sign up mileage membership !!!!!
Freelance? hah! money too little. honestly, how much freelance earn in the long run? i will only consider that if i m married and have kids and want to spend more time nurturing my kids.Originally posted by angel7030:Aiya, be freelance better, why need to look at people face and earn a paid that have to be share.
The interviewer has good PR skills and probably know how to motivate workers. I could choose based on what i like to do and most importantly the environment that i am in, my boss.Originally posted by blu_sky:Thinking about changin my job.

Yes, i will think he has gd PR skills, though such skills are not so common in my profession. MAybe thats why we hit it off cos we are both the few people-oriented kind in our field.Originally posted by Isis:The interviewer has good PR skills and probably know how to motivate workers. I don't mind both really. Both seems to have good prospects but i don't like the drilling all the time.
mm it seems that you are eyeing the bigger company. Anyway have u gotten both job offers from both companies?Originally posted by blu_sky:Yes, i will think he has gd PR skills, though such skills are not so common in my profession. Can you imagine wat one of the key interviewers from the bigger co was doing during the interview? he was playing with his mobile phone all the time, even when others are talking.well, what to do, he is a really senior, high ranking person.
I think i can learn more in the bigger co, i will learn something so new but i am really not confident. Well, even the interviewers are not confident of what needs to be done actually.
AS for the smaller one, mainly doing what i am doing now, but, pay rise is nice.

I love to travel, but not for work. It has been a fallasy for many that travelling for work is fun, but trust me, it really isnt.
If i were you , i would choose B, the pay is good and expanding but it makes you more human my fren..Originally posted by blu_sky:Thinking about changin my job.

The perceived glamor doesn't justify the sacrifices.
Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you freedom.
You have to live with your choices. May you have no regrets in whatever path you decide to take.
Personally, I would prefer to live in a big pond. Because like everyone else, I am just a nobody.
