Yes, that is what i think too. Youth and beauty, so much more priceless than anything else.Originally posted by Yunhaier:Actually we often find ourselves trapped in such quagmire all the time.
We are stuck because we always try to quantify happiness and fulfilment based on numeric remuneration and eventually realised that it doesn't balance - which is why we are stuck.
Your choice will reveal, at this current stage in life, what you really seek.
A woman vying for top positions in the highly stressed corporate world will usually find themselves drained out faster than man - not because women are the ‘inferior sex', but rather because in competing, women have to turn on their 'masculine mode' and work with that dimension of energy level for a vast period - through managing, commanding or simply being aggressive in her line of work just to be goal oriented. Over a considerable amount of time, the spiritual flow within the woman will be disruptive as the 'feminine aspect' of herself becomes inane.
Do what you need to make you feel human and natural.
The ironic truth about life is that when we are young, we worked so hard for money, just to use those money to buy back our youth. Perhaps in that sense, we should always opt for the happier choice.
Cheers
Thank you! i have that in mind too!Originally posted by daisie:Yep, I too, travel quite abit for work and it sucks big time! Would rather travel for leisure anytime. Tough.
Would encourage you to slow down and take things easy. All the best!
have you heard about a 'part-time' lawyer? one who only handles cases as he chooses? you call that "semi retired is a code word for 'unable to get a job'"?Originally posted by viciouskitty74:There is different ways to lay back. Depends on your skill set.
There is no such thing as semi retired. In actual fact, semi retired is a code word for 'unable to get a job'.
Maybe what you need is just a holiday. Doing something so different from your normal work scope....that you will anticipate going back to your old duties with renewed zest and understanding of what it actually does.
I just returned to Singapore after that.
For something more meaningful. how about setting up a dance school in cambodia?

have been going for interviews. Some job interviews are really tough, they drilled and drilled. asked really irrelevant qns and and stupid really tries to piss you off. but such cos are bigs cos, T related cos. so strange and stupid, ask wat my hobbies are. like if i enjoy drinking and getting drunk everynite, i will tell them!
went to a interview today. really great one. it was like an exchange, conversation between the interviewer and me. and i feel really great after that. i feel that i am getting the respect i deserve for my maturity and accomplishment
Would you choose a job that is:
a) well-established co, confirmed good prospects, really expanding, but make you feel like the are drillin you all the time; or
b) smaller co, but profit making and expanding too, make you feel like a human again?\
oh damn, i hate travelling for work. why all these jobs require travelling despite i am in such 'back offcie'?
Thought of that. in fact, i had done that before! after i resigned from my previous job, i rested for 5 mths. For the 5 mths, i did not even look for a job. Went touring. Aw... so fun and carefree!Originally posted by viciouskitty74:blu....go for a holiday.
or a sabbatical if you can manage your finances.
in Singapore, it does not pay to be burnt out, emotionally & physically resulting in sickness.
I went thru it.
It wasnt very nice.
Take a break. Join a smaller company if you really likes it. And think fresh start. Take a walk, smell some roses and re-organise your stuffs before you finally join the new company. And if it does not work out.
There is always other companies that will welcome you with open arms.
Relax about it and things will go your way. Remember to keep in touch with folks around you.
The key ideas I hope you will understand. There is always new things to learn, new people to meet and new rules to breakEspecially your own personal rules which you never knew you could improve...by breaking its ceiling you set yourself.
What nonsense!Originally posted by blu_sky:Thought of that. in fact, i had done that before! after i resigned from my previous job, i rested for 5 mths. For the 5 mths, i did not even look for a job. Went touring. Aw... so fun and carefree!
Thought of doing that again. Actually i thought of resting untill after New Year;p But many people (friends, super close peers in the industry) discourage against that, or in fact all of them discouraged. Even the headhunters discouraged that.
Dont think i gonna do that again. Perhaps i am old now...

i guess short breaks not going to work anymore. i go for regular spas and frequent weekend getaways, but it appears i am still tired lehOriginally posted by viciouskitty74:What nonsense!
Go take a break lah. You read like you need one.
And frankly, in HR, those in the know anyway. Will tell you. Medical leave granted to employees to relax, have a holiday is valid. You are actually even allowed to be out of the country on holiday when you have medical leave certs for that period of time.
Its those conservative employers who didnt know about those.
If you cannot afford the time away, at least take some leaves during the normal weekdays, take a leisurely lunch and read a book.
Go for a foot massage and sleep early for the night. It can work wonders.
thats the spirit.Originally posted by blu_sky:if i get a job, i intend to buy myself out for 3 weeks!![]()
