i really don't know what i want in the future.
i mean after i graduate from poly, serve my NS, i don't know where to head next. with my current results i doubt i can enter a local U.
lets say if i were to get into the working force, i don't know what i want to work as or what i can work as. though many might say i don't have much of a choice as to the kind of job i want, but i still want to know what kind of jobs are available out there.
i don't really have an ideal job in mind either. someone pls help me out

work on some job that is related to your courses? You don't have much choice in this situation.If you got many qualification but you don't have experience in work. no use even you study pHd courses.Start work early can say good and bad too. -

then u save money till u have enuff to open a new cybercafe..

do not over worry, just complte ur current course to the best of ur ability. serve your NS & by then u'll think of something. Its still early now

It's never too early to plan, and to actively find out what you wanna do in the future.
Remember to always have a back up plan incase you don't make it to your first choice.
NS will give you time to think, time to reflect, and there are lots of people there from diverse backgrounds. Learn from them, but remember to take things with a pinch of salt. Check out how things are for yourself. By the end of NS, you should have a fair idea of where you'll be heading.
It's not a bad idea to take some time and work before going to uni, if you ever plan to. Least you'll know how working life is like and it might clarify the direction you'll be heading towards. -
ahhh thanks guys for the advices
anyway i've been asking around but i've always been getting answers such as, "i wanna be a teacher" so they probaly are gonna head towards NIE and some said, "i wanna open my own business". sure opening a business sounds feasible to me so as long as you have the financial backings. seems like most of my friends are equally as lost as me.
i'm currently studying ECCE ( electronic computer and communication eng. ) and honestly i don't really enjoy what i'm doing with all the maths and all
perhaps i would like to take up jobs which require planning or perhaps drawing or even jobs which requires you to just sit at the office cubicle and stare at the comp the whole day 9 - 5.
any suggestions? -

though:
1) Where does your strength lies eg creativity? Analytical mind? Meticulous number crunching? - This would determine your competitive advantage
2) Where does your interest lies -> You mentioned playing games, well what kinda games?? Its important as this would help in determining your
strengths (eg Warcraft?? -> you like strategic planning, Racing games? -> You like challenges (sales)
What course did you undertake in poly btw?? There are many jobs out in the market currently. However, whether you excel in those jobs or not
largely depends on your passion as well as attitude when you embark on your career. Meanwhile, I would say just relax and undergo your NS
1st. During this period, you will be exposed to social classification and the realism of life. You will mature and eventually, you will find you answer in due course.

And don't worry, money is not everything. There's a trend, the more money you earn, the more greedy you become, the more involved you will be in office politics, the more stressed you will become. Having a job paying about $2-$2.5k would be reasonable, since it is enough for you to live life comfortably and you will remain happy. (And play computer games! WoW cards require money marhh) Just don't ever do anything illegal for a quick buck! We all get judged in the end, life on Earth is just stage one

For a start, you can try to understand yourself better. Understand your strengths , weaknesses and interests. Try to think about life. Try out new things. When you start seeing things in a different light, you'll start to have of idea of what goals you like to achieve. Most importantly, make an effort to reflect. It is useless to go through life without reflecting or growing. -

well guess certain advices did open things up for me a lil. well i guess i prefer working at a relaxed pace. i don't like to work in a rushed environment. i preferably would prefer something along the lines of planning.
well besides interior designing, any other jobs out there which would require you to draw and plan?
btw i'm going to graduate and am already halfway through my final year you don't expect me to quit my course now do you
just a question, do companies these days take more interest in your qualifications or your working experience? -
Perhaps...the most important thing is ur interview skills and do u have the qualities that they are looking for...

Playing computer games, especially mulitplayer, is actually a simulation... It does not gives u the knowledge but it builds up yr character... And character is the most important thing to excel in working life... Qualifications gives u different set points .... A higher qualification allow u to be in high position for the start... tat's all
As long as, u apply what u learn in games ... u can own people liao... Be brave, have a positive working attitude, just find a job related to yr diploma and u will find tat working life is fun... *OWNAGE* muahahahaaa.... -

Since u are not that old, better go and try part time jobs and look around what you like. Than at least you will have a better idea of your future career path.
A job that stares at computer 9-5 ...sounds like admin / accounts ...but now no more 9-5 ah..hahah usually 8:30 - 6 +OT till 8.
