Many people agonize over this in AA... better discuss it in AA.Originally posted by jondizzle foshizzle:wrong forum.
Yours is an extremely pessimistic view of the potential short comings of what being human is all about.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Fall in love, start a relationship, have sex and then break up...

Of course not. Adverse fear of relationships would lead to avoidance. Prolong avoidance would lead to the development of anti-social tendencies. And if the problem is not addressed, phobia and mental illness subsequently steps in. The thought of suffering from mental illness is enough to make people fear from it. Maybe some people don't fear mental illness, but I think i speak for most people.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:The thing to fear is fear itself?
Hello "Pain makes people grow" is NOT a positive. It makes it worse by selling the idea that having a relationship is a "pain" and needs "healing".Originally posted by Isis:I chip in something positive lah: Relationship can make you grow cos pain makes people grow and be a better person. Love can heal a person's wound completely or make ya a better person too.
However, relationship, like all things are impermanence. Love is a byproduct of pain and pain is a byproduct of love. No pain, no gain.
Do you understand the meaning of the phrase "The thing to fear is fear itself"? It means that one should not allow ones life to be controlled by fear.Originally posted by Paradise Lost:Of course not. As what was said in your signature, life is not to be avoided but lived. If you live a whole life of fear, then isn't that a really sad life to lead? No doubt our life will be peppered with numerous trials and tribulations, but riding out these problems and tackling them head on and thus living life to the fullest is the very essence of life itself isn't it?
