Uni isn't crap when u r studying something u like.
Uni can be fun or boring. Depend on attitude, the people , culture of the fac, course and how and what u can make out of it..

my issue here isnt with what im studying....im coping perfectly fine with the academic stuff. most of my courses are enjoyable other than the few oddly rediculous prerequisites.
so far everyone has said that a uni cert can help with getting a better job/better pay. but that's NOT what i care for
it's a little like JC vs Poly in singapore. i wanna go to poly, but my parents force me into JC. because apparently people think that JC is better than poly and that JC students are smarter than students in poly etc.
the reasons for not letting me go to college is as stupid as that.
id rather study what i want to in college. get out and work and if i need or want to, go back to studying again later.
but then again, the real issues have little to do with school... -

Well, the field you've chosen, if I remember correctly, requires a practitioner to have post-graduate qualifications.
So much as we gripe about undergraduate studies ( you think I don't want to hit my M.A straight off too? Hehe) , there's not much we can do about it because its the darn field we're in.
Unless, of course if you've chosen a different field from what I've been told..then just treat the above as just words yeah..

im getting a degree for the sake of getting one. because if i had the choice, id just do random courses i want to instead of getting a degree.

What i am trying to say is there can be several different factors that contribute to the situation that you are in now, but however you are just unhappy with your choice. -

I know you are angry, but there are two issues here.
1) You are obviously very angry, and it is triggered by parents and grandparents. While you may claim that they are idiotic, have you ever asked yourself that you could have stand up against them politely and firmly of your own decision. perhaps you are angry because you are swallowing these issues.
You got to solve this emotional feelings first and learn to be patient and happy first.
2) Regarding the issue, Knowledge is useful, whether it is the knowledge you gained from your degree course or outside. Therefore, you cannot say that your degree course is useless. Its false statement. Your degree course is useful to some extent.
If you dun want to study your course because it is not what you what and you got another path in your mind already, then just quit university loh. University degree does have a certain security and advantage, but if you are continuous learner, smart; have strong character and have right attitude, you will still get high pay job or your business in the end, because companies just care about your performance and ability in the end.
THere are always professional companies who insist on recognised degrees and others who just say that as long as you got the relevant experience, that is all we need. -
