friends?

i've a best friend who i knew from young is in some phone bill debt, because he overuse on chatting. heres the case: because i've a part time job of sending flyers at nite, he wants me to give up his slot for him, so he can pay the bill. when i've asked him to take the job when i found it (2 vacancies), he cannot take it because his parents dont allow. now i've already asked another friend to take the job and he's now back to me and say "don't care" parents and work. for the sake of me and my the other friend who already working sending flyer's rights, i rejected him, and say the most we helped him ask for vacancies or lend him money. he replied me say i let him to die and not wanting me to lend him $, even to the extend that nxt time if i have problem ask him he wont care about me.
whats the deal now? he overuse the phone and i've to helped him in it totally, even giving him my job? am i over-reacting or making it too big or issit im at the fault now? need some serious advices.
maybe im not the cut to be good at social skills.

do u nd him as a fren or as an everyday life thing?
if not, den just leave him alone to think abt it himself...
if he still can't straighten out his thinkin den u just talk to him.
whether he listen or not is up to him. -

anyw, he shouldn't rely on you. IMO it's his problem and you've alr helpped by offering him the position at first but he screwed it up.
but actually of it's still possible to give him the position why not? unless the forms have been filled etc etc then well, it's just his bad timing and nothing can be done.
if he decides to disregard you as a friend cos of this, he doesn't deserve your friendship.
finally, it's a phone bill, not a debt to loansharks, tell him to chill -
Here is what i predict is going to happen...
1) Alot of people are going to ask you "How old are you guys" to determine the age vs maturity level.
2)Alot of people are going to tell you the simple honest truth. Friendships, though they are important, it is more important who you choose to call your friend.
3)Only a handfull of people...maybe even less than, will tell you that you should have given up the job for your friend. Most will agree that you did the right thing, because self-preservation is higher up on the list than self sacrifice.
Personally, i think it is your friend that is in the wrong, not you. -

sorry to disappoint but im a guy...
im in 19 and although its a part time job, i cherished it because of good salaries and working hours. he's my best friend and i've offered him the job 1st and he didnt take it.
so am i in wrong or is he in wrong? am i not a best friend enough? -

thanks everyone for the reply... i hope its the right choice for me to do so. i didnt really owe him anything. just that in fact, sometimes im proved to be selfish for myself instead of giving it all out for my friends. until recently i've been thinking over and over again... issit im selfish or is it right to do so?

guess i've done it...
but my advice is still genuine.
"best", "good", "great", "close" are just words said by those who needs help.
those dat r considered as one of those four words use action, not just say it.
u can b called one of those or perhaps just "carin & considerate", dun be disheartened by his childish actions.
there r many other ppl who will make fren with u, short of him, u still can survive. not as if u owe him a livin. -

I think... out of his frustration, that he shoots you for not helping him but when you really did.
You have a choice now:
As a friend, you can continue to offer help..
Or let him be. It is his choice anyway. -
erm cant help... happen to know him since v young.
jus pity for losing a fren la... wont die without him of cos. people could be childish in an impulse or out of frustration. i'll leave it to that and see how it goes when there's a friends' meeting next time. -
we got limit to help la.. he with his narrow minded never see how ppl feel also.. all he care is his little brain and when things turned out bad, he bark like a dog
