I was molested before last time(forgot what year but it was when PS just opened for biz) at PS second top level. I did not know that I had been assaulted until I grew much, much older. I do not feel angry anymore. -

But in the case of sexual abuse against any child, there is no need for moral debate – you report the case no matter what. Would you be just as baffled if it weren’t your niece against her cousin?
Suppose you witness an old friend in the room with a 6yo boy repeatedly and he's obviously sexually involved with the child, what would you have done? Taken a long drive feeling vexed, then come home to AA for opinions? Given your familyÂ’s scenario, it sounds like something someone like you wouldÂ’ve done anyway. How old are you TS, 12 like her cousin? There is no grey area in this issue, please report the case. You are an adult and the matter has come to your knowledge, it's your call now.

At 23 she went home to her mother and brother, but has since beaten him up for cheating on his wife then warned him against committing the same act to his 3yo daughter. If it werenÂ’t for an ill-considered history, most of the damage today could not have taken place.
Another case was that of a buddy, cared for by an uncle who repeatedly sexually abused him over a few years – he was less than 12 when it happened.
I am not a professional counselor but I know for a fact that these things happen and they mess up on its victims in much bigger ways than you can ever imagine. You need to report the case and your niece needs counseling. -

Meanwhile it's more important to make sure she does not get messed up emotionally(police action will not solve it) and that she learns how to protect herself. -

It is not about the boy accidentally touching the girl wrongly. He pulled his pants down according to the niece's description of the situation ( but it is hearsay now) - if this fact is true , then he has an intention to do something but the little girl doesn't know what.
And from what the TS posted - it is not just a one off incident. -

Both are still consider infant in law. even if so. the police will usually ask the parents of both parties to settle the matter themselves. and they have to consider the fact that if really wanna report the issue, the 12 year old boy gonna have a police record all his life. Reporting means drawing a line between the 2 families and that's for a lifetime. think twice. Like what i've said. ask both parents to sit down and clarify the issue. but if the talk comes to nowhere.. then i guess. u gonna report.

The argument in this thread can go on for a long time with no real conclusion in the end because we’re just running circles based on what we ‘feel’ is the likelihood of truth.
I just hope that in a real life situation, as an adult, even as bystander, you act as you should because even if you err, you err with the safety of younglings in mind (that is basic common sense and basic morality). Juvenile molesters/rapists on the other hand need counseling, probation, psycho sexual screening etc to make sure they are set on the right track.
Confront the situation rather than sweep things under the rug is the right thing to do no matter what happens eventually. Young perpetrators of sexual abuse may be victims of vulgar media but it is not for you and me to estimate the level of harm on anybody (leave it to skilled workers and the authorities).
If sex education for 13yos in developed countries has progressed from discouraging premarital sex to encouraging safe sex, you seem decades away from how modern youth has evolved. -
