Strong medication is not advised for acne skin, as I have previously used, it 'covers' up the acne with new set of skin, looks clear but there's a bump. If you go for facial they will tell you that it has to be removed blah blah and that will mean pricking into your new skin to get under it, leaving unslightly marks for awhile.
For redness, try using vitamin E, both oral and liquid based applications(try to avoid cream - just my personal gut feeling as they are more greasy and might result in breakouts).
Toner/moisturising is extremely important, as FireIce has stated going for facials have to be regular(at least once a month)
Being more affluent I get slightly better products, and for oily skin I believe Derdemex is not bad(though I don't use it because I have my other products). But I used the small trial set and I get less oily skin. Dermalogica is not really worth your money, the products are slightly weak and oil control is bad.
Try not to get your skin too dry, always use a toner before applying intense facial treatment products(oxy 5 is strong enough, avoid oxy 10).
Try not to squeeze your pimples if you don't know how, because chances are that you will leave a mark.
I cleanse my face twice a day(once in the morning before I go out and at night), and three-four times if my face is oily. Cleansing is very important and it is advisable to use a not so strong product. *The ones available at watsons are usually too strong e.g. T3, Oxy. Nivea is okay. My face gets oily when I'm stressed up(Mainly because of the amount of thinking from Mahjong).
Sufficient sleep and moisturising plays a part in your facial appearance(you really will look like shiat if you don't get sleep)
Anyone has visited a scar specialist? I do have subtle redness in my skin(a little discouraging when your skin is good but have redness due to a bad past), but am looking for a promising clinic to visit.
25 dollars fo a facial is very cheap. My facials are $160 and my products go for $240 for a Cleanser, Toner and facial wash.
Oh, also note that Cleansers are very important, they give a more thorough cleanse as compared to a facial wash(you have to use both).

hi,
in my several years in the skincare profession, i've seen many cases of scars in my clients.
so far, i've seen about 4 types of scars and blemishes, at least.
1) the sunken scars, or pitted scars
2) flat, darkened marks on the skin
3) flat, reddish scars that appear hollow within, due to loss of collagen. these are usually fresher scars, before they become sunken ones ( as mentioned in no. 1) with time.
4) raised scars, or keloids.
they often come in all shapes, sizes and depths ( or height, for raised scars).
it must be noted that scars are damages caused to the skin, usually over a prolonged period of time. therefore, to undo the damage is definitely not an overnight affair.
moreover, the more severe the scars, the harder it is to treat.
even with the most advanced scar treatment currently available, the degree of improvement is perhaps at most, only up to 30% for deep scars. ( unless we are talking about the american "face-off" surgery, in which the entire facial skin is transplanted.... probably, that might be the only way to remove scars 100%, though both costs and risks are also significantly higher).
therefore, a client/patient needs to manage his expectations well, by being more realistic about the results that can be achieved. this will help him to avoid unnecessary disappointment and frustrations. don't fall for hypes and advertising gimmicks easily.
some of the scar treatments available in the market right now includes the following.
1) fruit acid / chemical peel
2) light-based technology, such as IPL ( intense-pulsed light) and LHE ( light & heat energy), etc
3) fillers ( such as collagen injection)
4) radio frequency technology
5) laser technology
6) mesotherapy
7) diamond peel / microdermabrasion.
hope the above information helps.
cheers!

How old are you? I had acne a few years ago in my sec sch days and I didn't even do anything to it (I even squeezed them) and now my face is still good. No marks, and occasionally 1 pimple break out only.
Aya . Pimples only .
Take it easy .
its important to go see a doctor early, you dont really need cosmetic or facial treatment. you need medication to help you. i have spent almost thousands on facial treatments, little improvement, but after i taken my acne treatment using Nimigen, great improvement on my skin texture. i feel good again. trust me. dont waste money on any facial treatment craps. some may make your skin condition worst. the treatment for nimigen so far cost about 100 - $120, depending on your intake.. you need recommendations?
Best way to stop acne pimples is to find the cause.
Prevention for further broke out.
Base on Dr Tomotari Mitsuoka reseach, Pimple is cause by Bad Bacteria in your large intestine.
If there alot of bad bacterium in your intestinal, they will produce "Tonix" in your intestinal and the Tonix will than absorb by your intestinal, from there it will go to your bloodline than circuit out.
So the last stop of bloodline is the skin so the Tonix is all ended there.
That where pimple is form, you wil see alot of yellow discharge is the Tonix from there.
There best way is to cut down on meats, Bad Bacteria feed on them to growth.
Increase your Benefical bacteria that is in your intestinal, Daily in take 10ml of SinSun Soy Oligosaccharide can increase 40 times their population within a week.
With the increase of the Benefical bacteria will improve your skin.
