expereince needed I think depends on the position you are applying. some jobs even if you have the degree, you will need to go through the "internship" period first. Can try MCYS, NCSS for more information of such organisations around I guess.

Which schools specifically?
Take heart from the fact you're not applying for an investment banking job...
Hi, i think Sports Psychologist may be a new and growing demand in view of Singapore taking up a more proactive approach in the sporting areana. 2010 Youth Olympics would demand for such jobs too.
From what i know, there's a demand for that. Maybe you may try if you like it. Cheers!

I am not really into sports so I think I may not be suitable for this.

I have applied for a few. Let's hope I get some reply soon!
all the best to u!
u specialized in psychology, wanting to get into the social services industry yet you do not seem at all familiar with the various institutions avail in singapore.
do put in more effort & do some background research into this industry yah? can ask your lecturers and alumni for advice on how they get started.
studying or having that piece of grad cert nowadays will not get you a job or keep you there. good networking skills and self-initiative might. good that you started out by asking around.
ps: try checking out family care corners near your place (under umbrella of MCYS). learn about what they do, talk to them on their staff employment requisites etc.

Hi Zodi,
Did consult my lecturers but they all went up and studied till the Masters and phd level and subsequently went into private practice.
Like I mentioned in my first post, I have tried various institutions but they all require some form of experience even though it was for a junior position.
i personally know fresh grads who got jobs with MCYS in family care corners, or in community development councils doing social assistance. i'm a volunteer myself with family care corners. do try to take on some form of volunteering also to get a better feel of this industry. it's no joke, dealing with sad poor underprivileged pple day to day.

I have registered with my neighbourhood service centre. Waiting to start the volunteer programmes.
