my sis has a local engineering degree, but she submitted over 60 applications (half a year ago), and in the end, had only 4~5 interviews, of which only 2 offered her the job...
How many applications have you submitted?
Which industry are you targetting?
lucky for me me send one kena already ![]()
No need to worry, although the economic downturn is looming according to those blah blah news. Many people are in fact changing jobs....I meant job hopping.
Since you have overseas education, have you considered working overseas at the country where you studied for your education?
Have you applied/registered with any job agencies?
Working itself is already not easy when you don't have experience and have to start from the bottom. And working together with your colleagues who are Singaporeans is even more difficult because I believed most of them would be childish, arrogant, competitive, back-stabbing, political and not helpful people.
So it's not bad to keep this in mind, "Working is like Acting".
The better worker you are, the better actress you will need to become.
Helpful, kind, sincere, genuine workers are usually the most naive people in the company and will be the first few people to die or placed on the chopping block.
Be EVIL, CRUEL, HEARTLESS, COLD-BLOODED, SINISTER, PRETENTIOUS. It is required for you to survive in this cement jungle you would be calling your workplace.
Smart doesn't usually necessary bring success in a person's career. And so good luck to your job hunting and I hope you will find a suitable job soon. ![]()
lucky for me, din submit any application and got a job after doing some freelance job for the company.
btw, there is nothing to do with ur degree not loca.... mine wasnt local either... infact, i was paid more then my peers with local degree.
my friend sent 100 applications and got a job at barclays.

dat's a common prob wif a foreign/private degree, like SIM etc etc, you are not alone
but doesn't mean all hope's gone, u HAVE to show that u are equally as capable. It takes time to prove yrself, so be patient, and don't give up on jobs so easily just because you think don't like it, need to press on man, wat more with the lousy economy now

It depends on what job he is doing at barclays.
Got one time I met this indian guy who gave me his namecard showing off that he is working in barclays...I don't really remember much but I think it's some sort of banking position.
Then still tell me he's a prince back in india and his royal lineage has migrated to UK and he's a UK citizen and alot of blah blah blah.
In the end, he had to flag a taxi to go back to work while I drove pass his taxi stand in my car.
By the way, I'm jobless. ![]()
It doesn't means anything where you are working at. People can work as a maid, security guard for the Queen of England also doesn't means anything. But if you have your own Chwee Kueh business in some old hawker centre, that might means something to me. ![]()
i'll put it this way, even a local graduate may not find it easy to find a job. going thru multiple interviews and literally a hundred applications is not uncommon.
Try submitting your CVs to job agencies and in the meantime do some temp jobs to kill time.

The world is facing ecnomic downturn, and it is natural that jobs are hard to come by.
however, in your shoes, I find it funny that you got a job but quit due to blah blah blah...it is now a case, of getting one and hanging on.
let not the world change you, but you change the world.
time to turn to real estate
