I'm Stubborn....

My two closest friends just revealed to me that they felt i'm too stubborn and bull headed for my own good?!?!
While i really appreciate their honesty ( what are good friends for, after all, if not to honestly tell ya what they think ), it still stings that they see what i deemed as my determination as being stubborn....
Haiz... they say i'm so into getting everything my way that i didn't realize that it might affect others as well...
Truthfully, i do admit i am stubborn, to a certain extent... i stand up for what i believe in... and when i do believe, i will never back out... My view is, that is determination..
I'm not a saint i admit... but is being determine, a little stubborn and bull headed that bad????

eh sometimes, we just got to be flexible. Hang on to a few key principles in ur life, but be flexible how these principles can be applied in ur life. -
when you stood up for what 'what you think is right'
it might be at the expense of the thought of ours.
Well it might very well be determination; being stubborn for a good cause. It might also jolly well be self-centerness.
Making a stand and Doing what you think is right is not wrong.
By doing that hurts people whom you love around u makes a whole lot of difference. -

My two friends feels that I see things only my way and refused to listen to reasons especially when I've already made up my mind about something...
The thing is i do listen to reason.. only i dun heed it..
That's a diff... and i do consider others as well... i will never conciously hurt somebody just to get things my way.. well, subconciously....
I'm not denying i can be very stubborn at times... I am very independent in my way of life.. I could never let anybody take reign in leading my life.. That alone is already very different from my friends.. But that's how I am...
I've known them years.. What took them so long to suddenly realised that?? -

Me friends says the way i charge through life will lead me to lots of troubles one day..
I told them, i won't be here, the person i am today if i had not charged through life... that's exactly when they call me stubborn!!! -

being determined aint such a bad thing in life, the bad part is when u are too determined to such an extent that it gets into the way of others as in maybe offending them, or asking a little too much of what they are willing to compromise on. In that way, perhaps people will begin to think of the word stubborn as you being to persistence and refusing to budge and compromise on your own position.
We live with others on this small planet (or even smaller Singapore), so population density quite high and we really cant isolate ourselves and not interact. So if possible, give in once a while and don't allow your pride and ego to get in the way (not saying that you are excessively proud or egoistic) -

I am quite sure that you're a person who wants to change the environment to suit yourself.
Well, not in a selfish or domineering sense. But very subconciously, you may reason your way out.
Opinions from our people doesn't stand once you've made up your mind. That makes people feeling pointless and helpless to shed some light even though your friends or close ones think that they have a point to make.
You may wish to think of how much time you have spent before making a decision.
IMO - Stubborness is Great strength without much Wisdom. (No offence meant)
I don't know what will be of your relationship with friends and loved ones in a long run.
What i see, is a win-lose situation you're facing. -

what i think is that your friends think that you are stubborn and bull headed. It is good that they have the courage and are honest to tell you about your problem. it's good to be stubborn sometimes because sometimes it's also known as determination.. but too stubborn is not good because if you are too stubborn, you do everything your own way and you won't listen to other people's good points, this is where it starts to get bad. -

But it's like how i say before, how to not to be stubborn about it, when it's my life?!?!

they are good friends of course they will advise you....but if they are good friends in time they will also understand and respect your decision...

I sense that you're a individualist, and this 'stubborn attitude that you've embraced' may not be very healthy. And yes it can be seen as Self Centerness.
You can be firm, but not stubborn.
Be assertive, and not domineering.
Please do take some time to think over
How much does independance mean so much to you? To what extend will you protect it(Independence)?
Does advices from others bond you from doing your work and being yourself?
It's difficult to understand the under lying motive of being stubborn and determined but i respect you for wanting to have a life of your own. I mean....who doesn'T want to be themselves?!!
