i've got a friend who's really quiet too, and to be honest, it's very easy to forget about his existance because he really blends in the background. whenever everyone's talking, he's the quiet one observing.. so you can try being more vocal and engage in the conversation. and don't kill the conversation with statements like "I don't know", "whatever", "ya", "orh.."
stuff like that.

nothing new really. I was in your position before many times. Finally I find out who are the unworthy ones and dumped them. Now I am a much happier person where making friends are concerned. some people need help in weddings, after weddings just dumped friends. i learn to identify who are the ones who love making use of friends and so i either dump them or keep an arm's length from them. -

Dawg, maybe you can tell us what are your hobbies, likes and dislikes? What kind of sports do you like, what are your favourite food, do you play PC games, etc? From the hobbies, then it will be easier for you to click with the people of the same hobbies. e.g. like someone who have difficulty in maths, can find anothere person both study together with help from tuition, or both like movies or cycling, can go watch movie or cycling together. :)

some of your friends may think that some outing you are not suitable mah...e.g. like maybe they go sing karaoke, but think you dont sing one, or go roller-blading, but see that you are nerdy and may not know how to blade etc. So dont blame your friends lah...they still call you to go out when they think the outing fits you mah. :)
