For your info im playing Left 4 Dead and Counterstrike, even after playing so many times until sianz, i still find myself subconsciously choosing to play them or to surf the internet OVER study. :( It's as difficult as telling a smoker who has been smoking for 10 years to stop immediately.

Thanks. Btw I did try to pick up new hobby, like sailing with SAF yacht club, knowing more girls, clubbing and gyming for the past 2 years. However it seems that i have lose interest in these and now turning back to video gaming. I dun think picking up new hobby will help.

get a job lo...i used to get addict to games also..esp online games..but i think i mature liao...even thou i am 23 nia la..but..really..ur thinking play a huge part on ur addiction..grow up la kid..not saying u can't play..but not hard-core 1 lo..unless u can earn a living playing games -.-

IMH has community support services for this. But if you dun like the Stigma of going to IMH then Touch Community Services has a cyber wellness group that focuses on such addictions.

hi TS,

you can use this approach.

A. listening to music- takes your mind off stuff. -just note: dont listen music from your comp, cuz that way it'll be very tempting

B. uhh.. abit personal, but, TS do you have a close sibling/ gf or smthing? spending more time socialising will also help you cope with gaming addiction

C. you can always take up eating as a hobby ... hahaa :D

Have you tried talking these issues through with you parents/ someone you feel close to? It definitely helps :D

I also play Left 4 dead. It's a fun game. I got addicted esp when i purchase a package in the lan shop. Not playing now liao.

Solution to you. Go find a part-time job or seek help from counsellor or aim for a degree.

the easiest way imo is to replace it with something else

i basically replaced com games with lots of work and sex and going out when im not working.

stare at my com /laptop/phone 20 hours doin work, i hardly wasted time on any game this year, the most once a month with friends at lan

remember money is more impt than games and then when your actually making money you can freely do anything else you want too

for now you can get yourself a hot girl you like being with more than wasting time playing l4d for the 1000th time, and spend time with her and other good friends instead

*i used to be lvl 40 warcraft tft solo and audition. and i completed every final fantasy. but i lost an amazing girlfriend of 3 years because i spend more of my free time playing com games and neglect her. that made me realise i was a immature useless piece of shit and stop playing games.

nobody should turn away from WoW..haha..you find other things to do..end up you get addicted to it again..why not treat it as a hobby and play it only when you darn free..discipline yourself..your mind is your own right??

try to fill up your days as much as possible... for me, during my attachment days, I took up 3 other jobs...working until as late as 3am..and the next day if I'm on morning shift for attachment, I need to wake up 5.30am as work starts at 7am sharp. Like this on and on...for one month plus. Main thing is to keep yourself busy with other things. I chose to earn money while beating my addiction..kill 2birds with 1stone..:P Going out shopping, or doing something you like(besides gaming) during your free time is good too. Helps to relieve some of that stress...haha
