You know how odd it is. Each time when a girl breaks up with a guy, how she so want them to remain as friends. And whenever a guy goes his way to go after the gal, she tells him that she just want them to be friends.
Its her way of saying to you, that she is not interested without wanting to hurt your feelings. Get it? She say she wants you to be her friend but you both appear to be as far apart as strangers. Don't bother to be her friend anymore. Just be an acquantance would do. If you pursue on, I assure you, she will get tough - she will tell other people in your school and you will receive some hostility. Don't push it.
Yes, you are right, you can't ignore her because she is in your school. But you can treat her like any other person in your school. Please move on and concentrate on your studies. Make friends (with other guys) and indulge in extra curricular activities. Heck, take long walks or go jogging to get your mind off. This is just nothing but a fleeting incident in your long life. Take it as a learning experience. Grow up
