Am I being silly?

I got to know this girl. My feelings for her grew after we went out for numerous group activities. I made my feelings apparent during the run-up to V day. But got rejected on the eve after I gave her a present. She said she only treated me as a good friend. So I thought I could still love her quietly as a good friend.
But recently she confided in me her relationship problems. Really made me very sad. Friends have advised me to give up. But she is my first "real" love. I really don't wish the feeling to go away, lest it be the last time. -
perhaps if u treat her nice, she might reconsider u?

A relationship don't start easily, maybe if you try harder and she will come to know that you really like her. Many relationship always start off as normal friend.

She confided in you? It could be a good sign.
Are you feeling jealous? Try to think of it, it may be a start...
Just console her whatever u can...she may feel touched one day.

Thanks for all your encouragement. She seems quite contented just being my close friend. I have no doubt she knows I care a lot for her, because she said so herself. The sad thing is, I know that some day, I will grow numb, and she will fade into my past just like those before.

Women are such strange animals. One moment they can be friendly, the next they are colder than ice. Looks like can't even be friends anymore. Wonder if she's doing it on purpose, or is this the fate which befalls all unrequitted love?
There is a war going on between my heart and my head. Everytime I think of her, I try to force myself to think of other things. But sometimes I can't help it, because life is about emotions and he who has tasted all it's forms and varieties in it's extreme intensities would have really lived. -

Aiyo, dun gan jiong, be close frens first. Believe me lah. Be there for her when she needs you, be supportive, but remember : treat her only as a good fren. She can have bfs at the meantime, she can even change her bfs, but it does not matter as long as she comes back to you finally right ? It is a trial and error process in life. After all the r/s she has, she may finally find that you are the most suitable one. Who knows ?
One day the love in her heart may start to grow for you. It takes time for love to grow.
Once upon a time, I used to think that a ger is THE ONE for me, until one occasion when we got to travel together .... for a few months ..... i gradually can't stand her ! Really ! I am happy that i did not "act rush" that time when i thought she was "THE ONE", obviously she is not, far from it.

Do you respect her decision? She already knows your stand, the ball is now in the side of her court. Persistence may only cause her to shun from you.
Be a friend. Her friend ~ and let her know who you really are (even if you do act rashly - she'll still know who you really are, and may not even consider you for the lack of your respect for her).

I know and respect her stand, and want to preserve the friendship we had, for it started out so. Unfortunately she seems to shun me anyway. Looks like the end of the road, cos I'm also pretty tired.

actually, i'm pretty much in the same situation as u..except that we are drifting apart now as we speak(or type). lucky for me, we went out on V day, had a very nice and romantic time. But now, citing studying as a reason, we decided to wait after our As to carry on. But now, she is not tokking to me and in fact avoiding me more and more. Sighz, why must it be like that..be contented u and her are still good frens. for me, at the rate me and her are going, we might be strangers after the As. -

Come on, although love might be "wei(3)da(4)", but never forget something, "qin(1) qing(2) gen(4) ke(3) gui(4)". That's what many of us took granted for. Hopefully, you still have your kins around you. So whatever happens, console yourself that you still have your kins behind you. Come on, what's love during early twenties and during teens years? "Tian(1) Ya(2) He(2) Chu(4) Wu(2) Fang(1) cao(3), he(2) bi(4) dan(1) lian(4) yi(4)zhi(1) hua(1)". There are plenty of good girls out there(hopefully too), so get on with life and strive for your future and career!=)

That is very optimistic of you. I suppose some of us here are more of a pessimist. Appears to me it is pretty darn difficult to find someone whom you feel you can try to live forever with and who feels the same way at the same time. Gosh! Maybe it's easier to strike toto!

I'm in the same boat, except that we were in love..now he wants to 'be alone' and I've let him. *shrugs* But I still love him and only want the best for him.. I can only hope that we'll be together again *sigh* -
You can continue to love her,but be always aware of the true fact that she may not love you in return, is this what you want??? If it is,then you may continue to do so,but be warned that it's best you forget about her as the chances of you going with her are quite remote and no use dreaming about it.This may sound a bit harsh, but this is the real world, I used to have your thinking, but after all these years, i realise i was too gullible that time when it came to matters of the heart,hehehe

Miracles might happen ... as for me ... 6 months ago i met her ... we didn't know each other, but i felt she was the one for me ... a month later, i knew her and another one month later, i told her i love her due to some circumstances ... she didn't say anything ... and now, 1 month ago ... she said she likes me ... but we're still not together now due to alot of problems which i decline to mention ... but just to prove to you ... sometimes persistantence works ... i only chat to her in icq/irc ...

Thanks. But something strange happened. She is totally ignoring me. I sent her gifts from time to time, still nothing, not even a thank you, nor a "don't do that". The only conclusion I can arrive at is she's really determined to make me forget her. And I know she's not the kind who can be swayed. I hope I can forget her totally, because it hurts when I see her or when I hear her name. -
Don't worry,i used to experience something similar to you,but today i am still alive and almost forgotten about her liaoz,so i know you are sure to forget her and your memory of her will grow dimmer with each passing year until even the mention of her name does nothing to you,hehehe
