Unethical Selling From Naughty By Nature

I was called for a free photo shoot and told to bring my family to enjoy the shoot together. After the shoot,the hard sell tactics begin and I could not leave the place until I signed up for the package which is supposed to last for a life time which include Free shoot annually.After signing for the $4K package, I did the first shoot with my family and when we called Naughty By Nature for the 2nd year photography shoot,we realised that they had disappeared and no longer in business.I also learnt that they belong to the same group as "Wax in the city" who had gone into trouble too.I approached CASE but CASE referred me to SCT.I was awarded by SCT an amount of $2,600 to be paid by Naughty By Nature on 30th Apr. Till date, naughty by nature still never pays up.When contacted, the indian boss by the name of Raghupathi s/o Akkaiah insisted that he will not pay up and challenged me to sue him or the company instead.I am disappointed with the flawed in the law for not being able to protect consumers like us.I wondered what else can I do?

You've learnt a lesson: no such thing as a free lunch
An expensive lesson...but one you'll probably remember for life.
Now you'll know not to go for such things unless you're very sure you would not cave in to hard sell tactics.
And yep, seems like most people don't get their money back after getting scammed.

Huh ? What you mean cant leave the place until you buy......... You speak as if they detain you and forced you to buy, which you can call the police directly. In this case i guess no.

you really so easy. come lah i charge you only sgd$200/-. one shoot annually.
sgd$4000/- somemore, so you feel expensive then must be good. cheap then not good lah? hmm.. next time i charge more expensive, that means my standard good if i charge high high

God is watching every move! Look out for this morning's papers on ST prime news, Big news on Naughty by nature. I was surprised that thousands are victims and not just me alone.You know what? The Indian boss mentioned above, text me and asked if I am the one that wrote on sg forum.He said that I defamed his name.I wondered how so as his name was also published on papers today.He claimed on papers that he just took over the company. Thus, as a new director of a pte ltd co, he is also liable.In fact, he is not new to the company, I have seen his face when I last visited the studio1 year ago.I tried to call Citibank to stop my monthly instalments which i am still paying now but Citibank said that have already paid upfront the full amount to Naughty By Nature the moment the credit transaction went through.
I wanted to serve Letter Of demand to the address stated on ACRA but was told that the address doesn't belong to the director.Now that the studio is shut, I am not sute what I can do to recover my money.

Got copy of payment ?
SCT award u damages as remedy cannot enforce ?
But u DID sign it with the expectation of a lifetime free photoshoot right ?
But its a private limited co some more.
Forget about what couldve been done or what u shouldnt have done.
Its now about what u CAN do and SHOULD do.
But a hearing without the other party present is kind redundant also.
Sometimes I think that getting lawyers to litigate this kind of small amount is not really worth it for the end user and that is the consumers, and those s.o.bs companies know it.
We need more pro bono zealots to bring these suckers down.

you should tell him to worry about his own case when all teh consumers gather and mess sue the company. i bet the move for package promotion is to mess earn some quick money then close down the businesswhat deflame? we all here discussion about customer insatisfaction? singapore cannot have right of speech meh? its like we not happy about company A's service so we post online to discuss only mah.

I feel the name of company is very important.Like my own businees - "half past six photography (c)". Although its sounded unpro but one read the company name know i do honest business.

I dont think there is a need to sue that company. Fact is, you may pay more to your lawyer and get un-satisfactory results. Never believe in free lunch in this world and also deals that are too good, especially from a unknown company

yes, naughty By nature is notorious and they have suckered so many victims BUT i managed to help a lady friend score 1 against them. No bs. PM me if you wanna know how to claim successfully against them.

life time photography can shoot unitl die they do makeover for the corpse and shoot too. they can also take those big big passport ones for the funeral front cover, like fromt cover page for magazine

smart people won;t have to ever bother themselves with such problem because they will never land in this type of problem. although many people own digital cameras now, from low end to profesional grade type, few really know how to fully utilize it and much fewer know why they should press the shutter. just like religion, many practiose them but few knows for what and even fewer make full use of it.why cannot leave the place, did anyone threaten them if they leave with the photos taken? all these points is enough for people to file a police report even before parting with their money. why do you need to take photos, do you really need theoe photos tobe taken? or just too rich neeed to spend money?

But sometimes u know la... we cant expect everyone to be careful and literate. We have to take into account the ignorant and thegullible.
The question on why they need their photo taken , we dont really know, why do people open photography shops ? But all i know is , they paid with the expectation of what is advertised ma. Supposedly advertised la. hahaha

If the company/guy do not pay, you can apply to SCT to seize his properties to send it for auction and than use the money to pay you back what
