  although its thoughts that counts but if it were to be me, i will be unahppy. U dont have to spent anything to make something out from anything u can find in you house as a present. Just an excuse saying u dunno what to buy is something that is so disappointing... being together, u should at least know what your partner likes or dislikes...so i dont think its a good excuse...financially, u can make do with whatever u have in your pocket and still have a great birthday celebration with your loved one..if that is what he/she does, then dont expect to celebrate your anniversary or any impt dates

  i don't feel any special significance in my birthday at all, but i'll still use it as an excuse to book her for a full-day outing alone with me. no gifts needed whatsoever. but i'll definitely buy her present for her birthday though.
