it's good to save them with a time extension to let you know what time you amended it
How we do that?Originally posted by Parka:same. hahhaaaa.

THANKS for SHARINGOriginally posted by eutjin:if it is msword, change your auto-save options ...
MSWORD 2000, Tools > Options > Save > Save Auto Recover Info Every ....
set this option to be 1 min ....
if your pc hangs, right after the reboot, open up msword WITHOUT opening any other documents (just msword itself). you should be able to find your document there .....
but, as with all ms products, reliability has never really been a strong point, so, caution ..... this may fail at times. better than nothing though ...
sayang ... remenber next time save it before you do the next step .... I know you have a hard time doing that .... I not angry still wait for you at MRT station big HUGZ ....Originally posted by Devil1976:When you're using a COMPUTER... ALWAYS SAVE your BLOODY WORK from TIME to TIME

He is probably referring to the problem of "too many versions of the same file".Originally posted by Devil1976:How we do that?![]()
Isn't that very weird?Originally posted by eutjin:He is probably referring to the problem of "too many versions of the same file".
I guess what he means to do is to save the file as
"xxx-9.18pm07dec03.doc" ..... or sort of thing like that.
not really. imagine looking at a long list of files as below:Originally posted by Devil1976:Isn't that very weird?![]()
Nowadays you can easily check time and date the files are created and modified?Originally posted by eutjin:not really. imagine looking at a long list of files as below:
xxx-30-Nov-03-1245pm.doc
xxx-01-Dec-03-0849pm.doc
xxx-03-Dec-03-0315am.doc
xxx-04-Dec-03-0610am.doc
xxx-04-Dec-03-0300pm.doc
xxx-07-Dec-03-0230pm.doc
xxx-08-Dec-03-0349pm.doc
it's easy to identify which files came first .... or last. makes life easy, especially while studying (projects, assignments) or while working (reports, reports, reports!)
of coz. but, it all depends on personal preference. guess Parka likes his way ...Originally posted by Devil1976:Nowadays you can easily check time and date the files are created and modified?![]()
