Urgent Legal Help Needed!!!!!!!!

hmm.... how shall i go abt it??? not too sure of the exact story....
the thing is like tat.... my fran's brother was con by some sales person to purchase a vaccum cleaner.... n they say he can trade in his old vaccum cleaner so the amt he have to pay was much lesser.....
they made him sign something n they nv issue him the original copy of the invoice....
so actually he donno wat's the exact amt to pay.....
few days later.... they request him to pay up.... i think it's not a small amt.... anyway it's so much different from wat they have said in the 1st place.... my fran's brother felt cheated....
n he request for the invoice, they hesitate but finally give it to him.... n actually it stated tat the vaccum cleaner can b return within 10 days of purchase.... but now they rejected the return n they wan him to pay up ASAP.....
my fran log a report to CASE, but they wan her to go down personally.... they will not entertain fax-in....
wat shld they do??? is CASE able help them settle this thing??? wat other helps can they seek???

My aunt kena this case b4.the company is eletrolux!!!!i m quite certain this has happened to many ppl b4,esp,uncles and aunties...the other time,we resolve the matter by force and legal means...
tell ya frd to go to newpaper,i m sure they are willing to print ya story....only thru mass media then will the big company's step down....

Like some have stated... Should ideally go down to CASE and file a report (for your own good and perhaps the good of others..)
Make a police report. Statement should include the invoice and the fact that you wanna return the product but has been refused.
Try 'threat'. Demand a refund or bring this up to the PRESS and newspapers.
Gather the victims for a STRONGER CASE in return.
Not sure how much is the product? If you're willing to take the CHANCE, it's quite unlikely that they'll sue you for that... The product you've mentioned sounds like it's only enough for a petty claim... And by bringing this up to the courts, they indirectly just 'exposing' themselves....

reminds me of something that happened sometime last year...nearly got cheated if i didnt insist...
when to people park to buy a hi-card and was charged $50 with a card value of $30, the sale person told me that the other $20 was for registration.. i paid him the $50....
but the more i think of it, the more funny i feel and decided to ask another telco shop down the street... they are actually selling at $30 only......and ask me to go back to ask for a refund...
when i went back, the ah beng their refuse until i show my black face and raise my voice at him and threaten that i call the police and go to CASE and will call m1 to take away his license to sell m1 plans.. he insisted that he cant make decision and must wait for his boss to come back.. so i say i will wait..
in the end, he LL.. gave me back my $20 dollars...
the point is that to deal with this kind of person or with such "cheating" policy is to tell them that u know more.. or rather pretend to know more.. and always insist that u are the customer and have all rights to refuse anything even though u have sign whatever stuff, chances are they are unlikely to bring u to court because it is most likely not worth for the company and u.. so dun worry about the "court" thingy.. -

all goods bought whether or not the invoice states refundable or non-refundable or not. It is still refundable but dunno is eithin 3 days or 1wk. Under Sales of Goods Act if i am not wrong. And yes CASE can help her but she will have to become their member pay i think $40 plus andgo down personally to lodge a complaint.
