It is ok to call & find out how she is, but if she is already attached, then don't disturb them.

call her see if wanna go out and catch up. be casual and do not broch on relationship issues.
During conversation, check her body language - if she's interested, should be able to sense it. If got bf, stay friends. If no bf, good for you but don't be too happy yet. If she's not interested in you anyway, you might as well say 'sayonara' to any of that kind of possibilities. -

ahhh.. i tried to date my ex out last year after 4 1/2 years of non-contact and lucidity... Even though we kissed on our "first" date after some time, it seemed funny and familiar... "Making out" also seems funny... Maybe its the "Oh i fucked you before" thought that is prematurely on my mind when i first intended to ask her out.. so guys, please don't ask your ex out unless you wanna have that deja vu feeling
