Is there a good future to be an engineer?

Accountant and Engineer are the cow and horses of the society.
They are charged one of the higher school fees.
It is one of the tougher courses.
After they are graduated, they have to discover that the market is not enough to sustain the yearly output of engineer.
I have friends who are graduated three years ago and doing job that does not require a degree.
In the long run, being a engineer, you will have to expect more work with promotion.
That means less time for your family and your life.
The starting salary is ok but as the time goes one, the business graduate will gain leap and bound in terms of salary.
In summary, being a engineer can satisfy your thirst and passion for technical knowledge, but not really practical in satisfying the monetary rewards with the long working hours.
Sad to say, no future in being a engineer. -

Yr 2 MPE student here......got a feeling i won't be working as an engineer whe ni graduate....maybe i will see if SPF wants me back as an SO.

we all pay the same school fees in NUS, except for those in medicine. yes the engineering courses are terrible. sometimes we have 6 day weeks. the people in arts have a 3 day week, at most 4 day week. i used to be so filled with hope when i was studying. now that i'm out, i see for myself the grass is not that green anymore. still there are some people who manage to get opportunities somehow. i realized my mistake. i took the wrong course. 4 years wasted.. not really wasted, cuz nothing studied is wasted. well. at least i learned a lesson in life.Originally posted by Medicated Oil:Accountant and Engineer are the cow and horses of the society.

i am seeing many real class engineers but some engineer i tell you no need any diploma coz serve long in the company then got this title...tok tok here...tok tok there....big boss say nod nod head....can substain and hold on to the job oredi
as for the time factor, it all depends on how you plan ur time....i see one eng my colleague arso dun need to work long hours do everything during office hours liase with suppliers handle MRB stuff....then got another 1/2 fuck eng dun noe what his old mutter fuc king doin i guess he divorce ordei got many time left only do work at nite because he scared ppl come to his table see what he doin.......
all in all engineer is just a title i tell you...and we are actually having lots of chapalang engineers out there i tell you man.

I aso leh.. study civil engineering... I myself hate the routine that i'm having...
but now studying for the sake of the degree... pathetic arhh?
Now i'm trying to save and scrimp as much as i can.. cos i still need to repay school loan after graduation...
I do like science and math b4 i enter uni but then the course in my school doesn't seem to be my cup of tea.... for eg.. boring lecture, cramming of knowledge, taking 8 modules per semester... maybe i'm just not used to the routine yet... and so many distractions to distract me away from studies too..
I don't like to commit myself to study anyway...
To be fair, though i hate this course, i shouldn't say being engineer has no future.. if u r interested to be an engineer, be optimistic abit... and be practical too...it's a challenging job and doing research, invention etc. if u are the kind that love to do these kind of things, then good for u.. -

some engineer when u tok to him u see he sketch with pencil or pens (not with the computer or cad software har) i tell u man da mn funny...cannot even bring their idea forward.....such are bad engineer....to be an engineer...must know how to sketch well
some eng largi worst......not sure dun noe dun 1 2 admit only want to ask ppl for answers......wan ppl to send answer to his email keep it and use the ifo...anything co ck up show the email u send say u gave the silly idea....everythin okay he hide the email say he do himself 1 -

pharmaceutical??? ever thot of what will happen to u when the drug that is produced by ur plant is declared not suitable for human consumption due to some reasons, like carcinogenic???
