Once break up with gf, no longer frens ????

once u break up with ur gf, either u or ur partner insisted that u 2 cant be frens anymore and frm then on lost contact..... its kinda sad.....
but who and how many out there still able to maintain normal frenship.... its nt easy..... esp when the other partner intiated breakup and he/she still wan to be frens........
For me, i wld say stil be frens but it will be very weird and embarassed next time when we meet or watsoever... -
haha yea read my thread..i have the same problem..only dat i m a girl and the guy who used to be my best fren, now become like a stranger oledi after i confessed my feelings to him..
want to regret oso too late oledi...

Depends if you are the dumpee or the one being dumped. Either way, it hurts. Best to avoid each other immediately after the breakup. No need to put the heart to more additional stress rite. it depends wat r the causes of breakup, if the reason like incompatible character , i mean it's fine to be stil frds..however, if he/she betrays u, of coz u dun wan to contact at all rite..but even both of u claimed tat stil frds but how close wil tat be??? the r/s is not the same afterall

I would say, it depends on how the relationship broke up in the first place.
Being friends with ex-gf is prefectly acceptable and fine with me, if the reason is not that of a betrayal. -

I tried but failed to remain frens/contact with any one of my ex.
One treated me like an enemy... wanted to pass her present on her bdae but she hanged up the fone on me. saw her a few times outside but always at a dist..
the other said can fren.. but always tell me nt free when i called her/sms her...

Its all in the mind.. Whether you wanna stay in contact a nt.. Of course, there are circumstances where the other person don wish to stay in contact cause they are hurt very badly..
But on average, why can't they stay as frens? U mean there is a "rule" that after break off, cannot be frens? think abt it this way.. before you are attached, you are frens.. donn let a failure in r/s break frenship..

hmm.. yup, we are still frens after we broke up. in fact not just frens, but veri close frens.. like siblings lidat.. we'll try catch up wif one another when possible lo.. den everyday chat on the phone... we treasure the frenship alot la..

My ex-bf dumped me after 7 years.... he promised that we will remain as "siblings".... after the break-up, he did contact me to see how I was doing but after 1 month or so... he started to stop doing that... apparently his current gf was jealous... and insecure I think... cos she's afraid that he will come back to my side cos she "snatched" him from me.... it's a case of she knows he's attached (a few months from ROM), yet she still chased him... anyway, we bumped into each other a few times... same MRT carriage, same bus etc... now we are complete strangers... he did say that I can icq him but cannot call him or watsoever... was thinking to myself since he's just bullshitting about maintaining the "sibling" thing... might as well not keep in contact... few times I bumped into them and smiled at them... they pretended not to see me and ignore me when we are like practically facing one another.... heck!! not that I don't want to remain as friends.... sometimes it's just not possible...
