CoolTek is the china brand which is joint venture with Sin and Chi. Coolair is a local company so pls know the facts.
Originally posted by SBS 8030 L:the euro 4, 8030L & 8031J EDS are cheena brand. They are actually very cheap compared to transit-media and hanover EDS which they are indeed better and more expensive quality compared to the coolair.
So the SMRTB Yutong bus is also a cheapo lousy cheena brand, is it???
Please talk with facts.
Coolair is a local brand.

Let's Share more infor on this:
When Bus Captains or Service Leaders start their bus duty trip, do they have to enter the bus odometer readings & end trip (either 1 end to the other, or end of shift) mileage with odo readings? If so, where do they enter them into?
Thanks
Hi Mike,
Use this to help you: http://sgwiki.com/wiki/Buses
If the particular model doesn't state anything it is probably pre-Euro, but buses after 1995 generally have a minimum Euro emission standard.
If you need authoritative sources, either use Internet Archive to retrieve website of the operators (SBST/SBS, TIBS/SMB) which has previously provided these stats, or use LexisNexis/DJ Factiva to retrieve newspaper reports about new purchases (they are usually announced).
Deregistration dates are obtained from one.motoring database by Land Transport Authority, of which some are listed on the wiki itself.
Many thanks SG Buses - eaxctly what I needed - thank you!
Cheers
Mike

But in the past, before the bus drivers began their shifts, they will have to report to their respective depots or bus parks. Each driver is given a shift card which functions like a time card. Then the driver starts to drive off to the respective interchange or terminal.
At the interchange or terminal, before the journey begins, the driver will turn on the computer console and keyed in the shift number, route number and employee number, and that's it. And the driver has to go through the same procedure each time he begins a new journey.
I have met up with an ex-colleague from SBS, it seems that the new on-board system now remembers the data throughout the day, and automatically updates the stage system too.

is it the same thing when the journey ends?
Subject: Early 1980s Bus Map
Hi all, recalled there was a SG Bus map (quite big sized, printed in red). It seems to display Singapore's entire island, including city (no Suntec City then) bus terminals & interchanges.
May anyone share, perhaps scan & display for us, pls. Thanks for that.
one point i still cant understand..why must SMRT deploy more scanias striders on 178, after the De-registrations of the nissan UDs, i dunno why, but 167 and 178 has more, whereas 187 and 852 wont have many after the de-registrations of the ELBOs, thats just the point i dont understand though, and 961 i believe dont have many striders to x-over to 178..Shouldnt they deploy atleast a couple of Mercedez OAC/CACs on 178?
Actually throwing all the L113s on these 2 services is good....that way, if I want to take an L113, I would know where to look, just like if I have the urge for a DAF ride, I look at 975.
no..not good, atleast they should balance, i mean, u cant hv one side loaded w/scania striders and the other side unbalanced, but for 178s case, its way too many, just like u cant hv the best of both worlds..
does anyone know the name of a young, handsome, botak BC from China driving route 151?
