Although technically this is possible considering the press release did not specify the number of new services, I don't think it's gonna happen... Compared to some long-distance services such as 47, 117 and 118 that were just introduced, this Yishun - Eunos - MP service is not that unique and LTA probably will ask commuters to take MRT or parallel services (e.g. 854).
47 consider long distance ah?
Need a trunk that supplement 169 from Yishun MRT to Sembawang Rd tii Admiralty there.

Sorry... this is my proposal.

see my route proposal.

Check the proposed 169A that loops at Yishun Ave 5 or Yishun Ring Rd. This service will operate on AM/PM Peak and late night last bus.

Agree, but should not have from Yishun. Instead have new service from Sembawang Interchange do Sembawang road and Admiralty complementing 981 into the industrial estate.

Longer than 324, 371, 386 etc, which was LTA's style last time.... :)

Actually, if Yishun was under SBST, we wouldn't see so many feeders... Instead we will see trunks winding around Yishun interior and passing by Khatib MRT. Just like what we see in Tampines, Jurong East etc.
(This is not SBST vs SMRT: the two route planning styles have their own pros and cons)

Hi mr array88, I suggest you compare Apple to apple and orange to orange. Don't compare sbs 47 which is launched as trunk service to sbs 324, 371, 386 which are launched as feeders. Cheers. Thanks.

The problem is, currently there's a Khatib MRT station there already in operation and much closer to some Yishun south neighbourhoods, but it has barely any routes that go to the east side (811 only at St 81, 117 only along the fringes at Ave 1, and 860 only around Ring Rd). Likewise, none of the trunk routes at Khatib serve the interior on the east side. This is simply an inefficient deployment of resources! As a result, regions such as Yishun St 61 and Ave 4, which are much nearer to Khatib MRT station, do not have a direct bus.
Feeders and intra-towns cannot serve the direct pair of bus stops at Khatib MRT well, due to there not being a convenient looping point downroute. It's up to the trunks.
Many other towns do not have a second MRT station, so be it. But Yishun does, and it's not properly utilized, while there is a significant crowd at Yishun MRT / Int.

Waste of resources, really ... I would have suggested amending 812 to St 51, and get one of the trunk services to cover for either St 61 or Ave 4. Can get direct link to Khatib MRT also.
What is the approximate time of announcement for this Yishun service?
812 can be amended to this
(Current 812) > Yishun ave 4 > Yishun st 51 > Yishun st 41 > Yishun ring rd > (Current 812)
South extension

Sadly don't think this will happen, as LTA needs "new" or at least "extended" services to show they're doing something... Not just amending trunk services which will not count towards their target of 80 new routes.

Doesn't extending 812 count as a new service? BSEP has always been counting route extensions. That was what happened for 386.
Also, there are plenty of other areas to introduce new services.
If LTA plans routes based on hitting quota alone, with no regards for deployment efficiency and resource management, then I have nothing to say.
In the recent period, LTA has even included Route Amendments under BSEP

I don't know how you say this a waste of resources. It has to happen sooner or later.
The HDBs along st 51 need a feeder service. Likewise the new HDBs along ave 4 cant rely on 912. Moreover it also connects Yishun Polyclinic, KTPH, Yishun Hospital, SAFRA Yishun to Yishun MRT, Yishun Ring Road.

If 812 gets amended, it will be the feeder service to St 51. It still passes by KTPH and SAFRA. Yishun Polyclinic is a bit further, but within walking distance to the bus interchange.
Meanwhile, one of the trunk services (perhaps 853, 855 or 857) now comes over to serve Ave 4. There's links to Yishun Polyclinic, KTPH and SAFRA. There's even a direct bus to Khatib MRT station and the city now.
Is there really a need to introduce a new service?

What about st 61? You leave those people with no service. Or if 812 plies st 61 then you leave ave 4 with no service.
Moreover 812 is such an old route, expecting it to get modified is a rare option.

Please refer to my post on this page. (Ignore route amendment B.) Then you can see what I'm talking about.
Cheers.

Hi mr SBS2652G, no. Which service? Route amendment is not BSEP. Cheers. Thanks.

instead of new services/extended services in recent press releases, they stated as new/amended services

Hi mr SBS2652G, but in actual reality, never see amended services as BSEP. Cheers. Thanks.
I just hope that LTA wont introduced more M variants service..
Also hoping that from 2017 LTA interested in buying Euro 6 buses like MB Citaro C2,Scania N series DD,ADL E500 Euro 6,VDL Citea..
